why is everyone fussing over the dell u2311h?
is the IPS panet THAT great?
hahaha..
n how bout size?
there are many other bigger sized monitors cheaper than this model..
so IPS panel more important than size issit?
cuz i've heard people say that there's not much difference between the TN n IPS panels..
guide me yo sifus..

Size is size, panel is panel. if you can't feel the difference between TN and IPS panel. stick with TN panel. save your money.

Aiya, everyone prefer not the same one lah.

Some prefer better panel, some prefer bigger size.
Some prefer LED, some don't mind.

If one afford, the can go for both.
If one is in budget, then choose what is preferred.

There is no such thing which is better than the others.

Spec different, price different, cannot compare directly.
It is about individual choice, and most (from this forum posts) just speak their experience and liking only.
This shouldn't be influence on your decision to buy LCD time.

That is so true for me. I cant wait to get rid of my samsung 22" TN panel for another Dell 23" IPS panel!

Yup. If the eye cant differentiate what is good and bad. Choose the cheapest and biggest one (TN panel).

To answer your question, yes.

The most easy way to distinguish is viewing angle.
See from side way or top/bottom.

Put side by side, you could see some colour difference as well.

Edit : earlier this topic, there are forumers posted up side by side comparison as well. Can check the earlier page.

have you seen an imac before?those use ips panels too, there's tons of them in malls.i doubt you missed it before.

and yeah, the difference is real.personally, once you've gone ips you'll be hard pressed to get back to tn [unless you have super fast eyes/reflex that 8ms is too slow for you] brows.gif

Go go order. Dell took less than 5 days to deliver to my door step. Impressive!

how did u manage to get the extra discount? is it still valid? how come i didn't get it (please see attachment below)? thinking of getting 2 monitors for my set up. would this be a good choice to mainly surf the web, watch HD movies, occasionally play games (COD, Bad Company etc) and Photoshop?
