1 bright spot, obvious on black wallpaper~ I was asked to supply service tag but couldn't find any 9-11 digit code although I've written down all codes and called Skynet, Dell CS and Dell hunting line for help~ no one picks up phone for technical support and I can't get through Dell CS coz none of the codes work (service tag)~ I've submitted a warranty request online a week ago and all I get is an automated reply and that's it, no calls, no contact~
*
If you just buy the monitor alone, you won't have the 9-11 digit service tag one, only those whole set computer got.

From my experience, I phone over the CS. Tell the issue, then the call being directed to a CS personnel. Then I told the issue, name/account/ address, which they have the info to verify it.
He told me to write an email attached with warranty claim issue/photo to him as official paperwork for the warranty claim.
Then after 2 days, courier service sent 1 to 1 replacement unit, and took back the defect one.

Thanks. For DELL 2209WA, one quirk that bothers me though. The brightness adjustment is meaningless. It is overly bright out of the box especially at night, tune down brightness does not help dimming it. Now using with lower contrast setting for a more pleasant view. Other than that, it is simply superb.

New Ultrasharp user, do you have this problem?
*
Don't have much an issue.
For sure, 50 on brightness is simple too bright.

I set 5 on brightness, 70 on contrast.
Seem fine for me.

for same size... LED is about $50 more expansive then LCD sad.gif
but from what i heard from sales person.. LED's Dynamic contrast ratio is as high as 5 million compared to the LCD's 70000:1 (samsung bh2330)

how will this DCR affect/influence my purchase? any other model that you can suggest?
*
I don't know how others view.
But currently the contrast figure published I find it has little meaning anymore.

Switch on the panel, and see yourself is the better judgement, instead of rely on how many million contrast being published.

I find DCR is not the major concern nowadays due to LCD technology or panel has been improving a lot, at least my view.

Seems like E-IPS could be the future trend and can be a strong selling point.

As it doesn't have the viewing angle problem as TN panel while price is not too far away from TN panel counterpart.

I don't quite understand, how can the seller sold at profit at price Rm200+ lower than Dell online?
and MOQ must be 5?

so,if there is bleeding, can i ask for xchange?

or bleeding is normal one? hmm.gif

Bleeding is quite normal across for LCD panel.

As long as the bleeding is not serious, (most on at edge or don't so serious), I don't see much an issue for ordinary usage.

It is only noticeable is pitch black screen which general usage has little issue on it.

Strange, I ordered Dell several times already. Everytimes, I received email confirmation after a few hours later after submitted the order and receive after 2-3 days.

I taught in the order submission, there is an required field that you need to put your card issuing bank one.

Hi all, just need some advice regarding Dell online purchase.

Planning to buy the ST2410 LCD RM679 + V313 printer combo for RM50 + 2 years extended LCD warranty for RM63.

I was wondering what do they mean by their advance exchange warranty? DO their tech come to the house to pick up the LCD if there is a problem?

How long does it take for delivery in Selangor area if I'm paying via credit card?

How does their coupons work? I've added the coupon stated by a member here to my account, which is the RM70 discount coupon. Can I add this coupon to the final price?
*
If your LCD got issue, their tech won't come one.
You just file/phone complaint and they will send another LCD by courier and the courier service will take back your old LCD.

Credit card payment, is everything goes smoothly and stock available, 2-3 business days should get it, bsased on experience.

Aiya, everyone prefer not the same one lah.

Some prefer better panel, some prefer bigger size.
Some prefer LED, some don't mind.

If one afford, the can go for both.
If one is in budget, then choose what is preferred.

There is no such thing which is better than the others.

Spec different, price different, cannot compare directly.
It is about individual choice, and most (from this forum posts) just speak their experience and liking only.
This shouldn't be influence on your decision to buy LCD time.

thanks y'all..
but seriously, can u truly see the difference between TN and IPS panels?
i've never seen it before..
*
To answer your question, yes.

The most easy way to distinguish is viewing angle.
See from side way or top/bottom.

Put side by side, you could see some colour difference as well.

Edit : earlier this topic, there are forumers posted up side by side comparison as well. Can check the earlier page.

Between an IPS and a TN panel? I would say yes. IPS wins.

But it is a little strange that Dell would produce a TN panel that has slightly less feature and only costs RM20 less. I'm not sure what market they're aiming it at, perhaps those who are really power consumption conscious?

Edit: Oh, considering the features like asset management, which is geared for enterprise-level, I suppose it is targeted at large enterprises.
*
They need to, in order to compete with other manufacturers, and give option to customer.
After all, they are not the manufacturers themselves, just get panel from OEM, so they do not need extra specific production line to serve this purpose. So the more variety product they can come out, the more better capturing customers.

Some company don't need to choose between IPS vs TN. They just need an LCD for office usage for their personnel, IPS vs TN make little difference.
A Rm20 difference could be a deciding factor when competing with competitors in term of large scale.

Buying hardware for company usage, the consideration is not the same with personnel level.
