Are all widescreen monitors the same aspect ratio? The 17" widescreen LCD on my desk, vertical height is significantly less than the 15" LCD. The differene is much more than shown in the pic.

For widescreens there are two aspect ratios. 16:10 (eg: 1920x1200) and 16:9 (eg: 1920x1080).

For non-widescreen LCDs, 5:4 was also common (eg: 1280x1024).

Your link is not working.
Are you looking at the Dell ST2210 (RM579)?
Thie monitor seems to match your price and it is a Full HD.

One more thing about the U2410 that I had forgotten. It uses 10-bit (1.07 billion) colours and not the usual 8-bit (16.7 million) colours that the U2211H and U2311H uses. Requires special hardware to push it through however as gaming cards don't bother with more than 8-bits.

Try it anyway. You might get lucky.

One thing about 8ms. 1000ms / 8ms = 125 changes (frames?) per second?

There's no DELL panel. DELL uses panel from other companies, for instance IPS panel is from LG.Philips. I think most people prefers DELL is due to the after sales service.

wa. new thread..
any P2770H users? It looks pretty sweet, and I was wondering about the performance and whether it is generally satisfying for its price tag.

Full HD don't matter if there isn't any Full HD content being viewed~ if not mistaken, blue ray is the only content that can reach full HD and I don't think there is any content material for 720P and above other than that except Youtube~

Samsung LED is still LCD, it's using LED as backlight. That's all. No big deal. A lot of people think that it is LED TV like advertised. It's misleading. It's actually LED LCD TV if you see other manufacturer advertise it - eg Sharp/Panasonic.

Dell has their own LED backlight monitor too, it doesn't sell too well because in the end it's up to the panel. Is there a Samsung LED monitor? Please enlighten me smile.gif

Yeah, the main reason why some of us chose Dell is because of their excellent after sales service. Had a few incidences with previous Dell products and the warranty claim process is quick and smooth.

As for the Dell monitors themselves, i noticed that the ST2410 has much lower backlight bleeding than the Samsung B2330 that i saw in a store. Satisfied with the black levels and colours as well. Then again, im referring to tn panels in general.
