Monitor normally has higher resolution than TV, as well as smaller dot-pitch.

Just my 2 cents.

Where are your study oversea? IMHO these items are better if you buy them at destination, for the sake of carry and warranty issue.

Plug to a true-HDMI capable LCD lor... Not those that had DVI-HDMI converter one..

My Samsung BX2350 had an audio out relay port to transfer the hdmi sound to 3.5mm jack.

Dell IPS 23" does not have HDMI input, only the 24" and above has HDMI input.
Only Dell IPS 30" has stereo and subwoofer output, but price is high.

However if you don't mind the TN panel, the latest with LED backlightning will have HDMI input but no sound output.

A dvi/hdmi adapter would be RM10 or less.... If sound is not of concern HDMI or DVI makes no difference.... DP is more important for future proof.

DP= Display Port, smaller than DVI, capability as DL-DVI IIANM, commonly found in Apple Macs and Cinema Display.

DL-DVI = Dual Link DVI, same port as DVI but more pins to provide extra bandwidth for transferring huge data for resolution above 1920x1080 which normal DVI couldn't deliver.

Samsung BX2350 fits your requirement. I would recommend Samsung instead of dell for LED-TN LCD. If dell for the same budget, better go for their CCFL-IPS.

Try to look for Viewsonic VP2365wb, price not cheap.
No need switch. Just connect dvi-hdml to xbox, and rbg-dvi to cpu (if your cpu is dvi).

DVI/HDMI switch (Many selectable input from your PCs/X-box/Astro/PS3/etc.., one output to your monitor) .... cost around RM 60 to RM100

A cheap way to by-pass a switch, is to get a DVI extender wire (M to F), so you don't have to go behind your monitor to switch devices.

well...I hd md up my mind...gonna get myself a legend.....2209WA....hoping they'll be extra discount before the RM190 discount expired [26/8/2010) like the U2211h and friends had now.......

if got lah ...this past 1 month..the u2211h model hv already been  twice given that extra disc [dell call it 'additional instant cash redemption'] of rm40...apart from initial rm179 discount.....if not...well i'm going to get it anyway......pray for it...ha ha ha
