after did some reading and research in this thread, found that those japan brand like alba, casio and seiko not really good watch but instead of low end watch. yawn.gif my budget is >500.
*
anyway with a budget of 500 RM if don't want Japan brands as they are not really good. U think 500 alot of money to get good watch?
seiko mind you makes GREAT watches. in fact their Grand Seiko maybe better than Rolex!
even Tag Heuer use a Seiko movement design to make their 1887 movement.
Casio make solid quartz watches, can take more shock than those Ball watches.

Does anyone here think that Casio watches (in particular the Edifice series) should be better recognized as a quality watches? They are nicely designed and watch quality is top notch, albeit being quartz.

I own 2 from the series, one is PVD ion-plated, which IMHO has one of the best PVD coatings out there (better than other Japanese brands). Been wearing it regularly for a year and I barely notice any scratches on the watch.

I have a Nighthawk and a Monster as well, both great watches themselves; and I have no doubt that the Casios are able to stand their own against these classics.

Should Casio be included in top Japanese watchmakers in addition to Seiko, Citizen and Orient?

FYI Orient today is part of Seiko group.
Seiko group sales figure is the smallest among the big 3.

for rm500 it's casio MDV102. after reading the review, i bought 3units, the kids & myself.
it's quartz, well build, value for money (for me lah)

http://www.amazon.com/Casio-MDV102-1AV-Ana...h/dp/B00134JNM8

it's not a matter what you wear, what you have is more important. my 2 cents. icon_rolleyes.gif

Use a brush or toothbrush and water to clean it.

not heard of Bonia Tesoro. Fashion brand I presume. Did a quick google on it no idea where its made in.
for rm1.5K I wouldn't go for a fashion house brand other than Cartier/Chanel/Bvlgari/Chopard/Montblanc
go to page 1 post 1, U can find lots of watches in the range of 1.5k

totally agreed. some people buy watch for fashion, but I think its not worth paying so much for the design/looks or simply for the brand *cough cough B&R cough*

Rolex sub for sure. Simple, iconic watch and retain value.

Don't get a Guess watch. I'm sure many here will tell u the same, that is, try not to get a fashion brand watch if u can help it. It's better to go for specialised watch makers. i got a very nice Orient for ~rm350. It's quartz but good enough for me.
