hi..i'm new here....this thread is great...I previously owned a Casio Edifice and now wearing a Seiko 5 automatics.. I'm currently interested in a Tissot PRC200 Chronograph.. http://www.watchshop.com/mens-tissot-prc20...652-p29833.htmlAnd i really wonder...how much could i get this in Malaysia? i am currently in Australia..i'm not sure how much they are selling this in AU but things are generally more expensive in Aus.. I also saw this watch selling at a ridiculously cheap price in Ebay...which makes me feel it might not be authentic...How do i know if a watch is authentic?

QUOTE(ck77 @ Aug 20 2010, 11:01 PM) Beware of fake Tissot! http://www.malaysiawatchforum.com/index.ph...pic,1270.0.htmlI would say Malaysia is cheaper coz of tax free status and no GST. Added on August 20, 2010, 11:03 pmbeau, get your 14060 first wow...the difference between the authentic and replica is just so small to spot... guess i'll buy in malaysia then...coming back to malaysia end of the year... Any recommended and reliable shops?

guys..i'm back..i was looking at a tissot PRC200 quartz chrono previously for roughly rm1k...then my friend suggested me me a PRC200 automatics chrono...and it's rm1.8k...do you think it's worth the extra rm800? http://www.watchshop.com/mens-tissot-prc20...652-p29833.htmlhttp://www.watchshop.com/mens-tissot-prc20...-p99930806.html

QUOTE(patryn33 @ Aug 23 2010, 01:19 AM) more like extra ~1K. this tissot chrono movement is ETA C01.211 base on 5100 and a swatch watch movement 2250 and it does have plastic parts. from what I read Plastic age and they break and require replacement over time unlike 7750. I think for auto chrono this more value for $$. its on ETA 7750 found on many watches. http://www.christopherward.co.uk/men/view-chrono/c40skk.htmlinfo on eta 7750 and brands that use this engine http://www.chronomaddox.com/valjoux_7750_engine.htmlpic of ETA C01.211 pic of 7750 now i understand why there's another tissot chrono auto model which cost around rm3.5k compared to this one at rm1.9k... So if i have a budget of rm1500, what watch would you recommend? i'm looking for a chrono...prefer mechanical but can settle for a quartz...

QUOTE(ck77 @ Aug 26 2010, 10:28 PM) One is normal automatic, the other is chrono movement. Of course the price is different. 7750 is a most common chrono movement, been around for years and reliable. How about comparing ETA C01.211 with ETA 7750? It's quite new and not much feedback on the net...

QUOTE(@udio_jr @ Aug 27 2010, 08:17 AM) Stowa is nice! But with my current budget, i think i'll only able to afford the basic Antea, lol... Christopher ward seems quite nice, never heard about it before this though. At that price point it is very attractive for the features it offers. Wonder how's the built quality of it, how does it fares against a Stowa? Between brands like Tissot, Victorinox and Stowa, is there much difference between the built quality? I'm interested to know the build quality between Tissot, Hamilton, Victorinox and Christopher Ward too...

QUOTE(cyew86 @ Aug 31 2010, 05:24 PM) the last i saw City Chain was carrying the latest models, around RM700 with 25% discount. but i noticed that you prefer leather strap, their flagship models come with stainless steel straps Hmm..not very fond of city chain...feel that their watches are priced quite expensively even after discount...

QUOTE(BL!Tz^_^ @ Sep 1 2010, 09:14 PM) hmm.....thanks for your opinion... now saving money to buy Tissot PRS 516 retrograde... another question here, are those watch manufacturers under Swatch Group make their own movement or the movement supplied by Swatch Group? Supplied by Swatch Group...Tissot uses ETA movements...

QUOTE(patryn33 @ Sep 1 2010, 08:43 PM) keep checking the site, U never know! I'm still indecisive between PVD C40 or Leather C40... a bit skeptical about PVD coating quality...coz my seiko 5 was ion plated and i have to be very wary every time i wear time Hopefully the have some discount coupons soon...the Nearly New deal is just too limited and chances are low i would be able to get one..

QUOTE(nando @ Sep 7 2010, 10:23 PM) no extra charges i think...but of course...dont expect the exchange rate to be as good as the money changers.. Was slightly worried...public bank charges 1.25% on top of the conversion rate and commonwealth bank (aussie bank) charges 2.95% on top of the conversion rate...so was wondering which one would be lower..

QUOTE(nando @ Sep 10 2010, 08:30 PM) what do you mean? can explain? CW website had some problems for 2-3 hours this afternoon... prices displayed were those 1 year ago...so about 40-50 pounds cheaper... but they realized it and change it back fairly quickly...can you imagine...c40 speedhawk at 420pounds with free alligator strap upgrade...compared to 468 pounds now...
