I just felt 99% of the time ppl here is asking for the affordable stuff.. feel free to post on IWC, PP etc, doubt mod is going to remove it.
well affordable varies from ppl to ppl too.. some its 1k other 10k or more..
there is also a thread in hobbies where ppl ask about Subs, AP etc.. nothing cheap like Citizen, Tissot. the activity there is slow so I kinda play with the name abit to catch attention. tongue.gif

I did also insinuate in quotes... unless thats not understandable by ppl here. mislead too many ppl?

The title is not apt at all. When the watches are not affordable as a time telling machine. A poor man could do well reading time with just a RM99 CASIO. So whats gives with the "poor" in the title? You mean you like to accept that beggars do really earn a lot to finance homes and cars just with begging as a job? Since when poor means you could afford a RM1K watch?
*
whats the problem here dude .my England is not there. don't really understand the sentence in bold, felt like its missing a 2nd part..

anyway I just quote an example.. RM$10 U happy? seem like there are lots of bones in a egg U are finding.
since MOD and even yourself have problem with the title.. do feel free to make the appropriate suggestion to get it right.

Finally decided on Laco due to its price and originality of the b-uhr. Chose B dial coz I find A dial is too common and plain for my liking.
This is the original spec for B dial b-uhr. 55mm in size! Easily readable and wear outside the flight suit.

Shipping was fast, 3 days from Germany to KL with FedEx.
great reviews!
do share your experience with online shopping, ppl are worried with taxes etc.
care to elaborate more on that? didn't get stuck in customs?

haha change the entire movement = get a brand new watch is that so. smile.gif
Tried on Orics BC4.....and is sooo freaking big and heavy...
Now i started to like watches with superluminova biggrin.gif
*
thats not really true. I used to believe that changing a movement = getting a new watch.
today a ETA 2824 (top grade) is at US$118
a miyota 8215 is just US$37. considering the watch cost US$211, U wouldn't wanna throw it out.
http://www.esslinger.com/miyotacitizenquar...vement8215.aspx
http://www.ofrei.com/page_183.html

Superluminova glows brightly when its charges, but it get dimmer with time.
I don't look at my time immed when I go from daylight to total darkness, usually its after sometime. hard to see anytime by that time.
try that in a theater after 1hr into the show/movie.
With age, the glow just isn't there. its also hard to find qualified ppl to do a good relume job.

Hi hguys, recently looking for watch which is not too expensive. Eying on seiko criteria SNDA1P1, seiko SNDB23P1, and casio edifice EFE-500D-1AV. Between this watches, which one is more worth to buy? Reliability, technology and function wise? Not much info from their website. Really noob in watches. icon_question.gif
*
it would be easier if U post links to those watches.
I tried to google but they are not showing up. only found the casio watch, the casio the dial look messy to me. Seiko and Casio don't have to worry about reliability. quartz watch like these feel like wearing a mini PC. maybe u can give us a break down of the full functions and the cost.

Graham look alike and quite pricey for a Russian movement  cool2.gif

Added on May 10, 2010, 9:33 pmEver wanted to get an IWC Mark XV or XVI but couldn't afford it?
Here it is, Speedbird III from Time Factors. Best homage and bang on the bucks  thumbup.gif GBP340
russian 3133 chrono for some reason can be pretty pricey. iirc many cost over US$500, if its from Poljot it would cost more, since they are russian 1st watch factory.

Speedbird is a nice homage, will add that on the 1st page. standard grade movement, hope they do regulate it and not just drop in.

Anyways, I am very close to ordering a Stowa B-Uhr. For those who have yet to see it, here's the link Stowa Flieger Baumuster B Dial
great look but price pt is higher at EUR$630 (VAT), to bad in Malaysia need to pay the VAT.

I like the Antea 365 on Soprod A10. EUR$620 (VAT inclusive), b4 VAT EUR$521. should take adv since I am in States

I like the Marine Original too, its base on Durowe 7440, german made based on Unitas 6498-1, but its super expensive!

these watches U like are like 10-20x your budget.

for the best deal shop online.

anyway, try orient, Jap made part of seiko group. else here are always Seiko5 watches
http://www.orient-watch.com/products/categ...?category_id=23
http://www.longislandwatch.com/Orient/Orient_Watches-2.htm
seiko5
http://www.pmwf.com/Watches/WATCHSALES/Sei...eSalesTable.htm

U maybe able to get citizen for that budget, but they are non hacking movement. unlike those models u saw, when U pull out the crown the second hand stops, citizen movement (with exception of 9015) will continue to move,

like I suggested to alfredfx, try Christopher ward nearly new can get for around rm$600 for a swiss made auto. stocks run out pretty quick, u need to check in freq to get a bargain. unfortunately C3 Malvern Chronograph is a swiss quartz and price is at rm$500. the auto C5 (white dial I think U like white dial) still in stock and is going for 635.
nice thing about it is 60.60 return and warranty policy.
http://www.christopherward.co.uk/nearly-ne...en/nnc5swt.html
http://www.christopherward.co.uk/nearly-ne...en/nnc3swt.html

don't china stuff look at seagull. they are priced btw 400 to 960.

WOW, the Christopher Ward u suggest i really like, nearly new mean it was used b4? if there is scratches and seem like it has been worn is it able to claim warranty?
and I worry bout the length is too large for my wrist...need ur suggestion since I've no experience about it
*
nearly new are items bought and customer returned them within 60 days. I got mine nearly new and didn't find any scratches, it looked brand new to me.
if U don't like U, U can return it to get an exchange within 60 days. they have 60 days return policy and 60 mths warranty.
U getting a leather band, don't have to worry its too long. or are U thinking of steel?

Anyway, i was looking some eye charming and long lasting design watch, found my tissot prs516 quiet old and it is the time to change...
*
U need to provide more info on what kinda of what u seek?
whats eye charming? any functions U seek?
long lasting design? U mean timeless? for rm$4K U can get Longines, Louis Erard, Sinn etc.
irrc your choice is this Mido on ETA 2836 (most likely top grade)
http://www.righttime.com/rt/mido/m83408d811.htm

diver try longines conquest with ceramic dial. L633 movement (mod ETA 2824-2) after discount close to 4K I think.

Guinand G-2401 is at ~rm$2k the G-330M is rated at 330m with helium escape valve also at same price. both on ETA 2824-2

their series 20 chrono is at ~rm$3.2K see link below.
40 series reviewed here and they cost ~rm$4.1k. a little history on this brand, they used to make watches for Sinn, maybe Bell and Ross. movement are nicely decorated, U not going to find much work done on Oris and Longines. at 4k U not going to get a chrono on these brands too.

its midsize watch. get the C600 i got and its a nice 43mm
or the C8 at 44mm or C40 at 42mm, hard to find ETA 7750 under $2K. an ETA 7750 movement already cost around rm$1.2k.

try archimede they cost ~$1.5K and are at 42mm

a 39.5mm Tissot Classic Le Locle leather may cost around rm$1K or less.
btw not shop at below b4.

the difference is just the date wheel. U may wanna read the below

the price, should be close to whats listed. iirc Mido use top grade ETA movements.
http://www.bodying.my/mido-watches-m8340-8...1/watches/23033

just found this longines site with their official list price.
http://shop.us.longines.com/longines-colle.../l36444566.html

I like to look at the movement, with most divers watches the back are covered. depends what U looking for, with this budget 3-4K want brand and value for money Longines is a safe bet. Mido if U want COSC movements. Want more watch and value for $$, can go with brands like mkiiwatches.com or Guinand.

This Frederique Constant Highlife Calendar Moon auto also good buy
