I checked out the Omega Liquidmetal Seamaster (Planet Ocean) - the size perfect for me - 42mm. But Im not sure if it's worth the price. This is similiar to the James Bond version - but that has sold out.
http://www.omegawatches.com/gents/seamaste...-ocean/22015000 I'm looking for something along the Rolex. Submariner style of link and face (black background, date only, bezel optional, self winding) and this was the closest I could fine. Any of the guru's care to propose something. I'm currently using a Longines Master Collection -nice watch but the power reserve a bit too short. Thanks. This post has been edited by RJdio: Jul 18 2010, 01:05 PM |

QUOTE(xphossis @ Aug 5 2010, 10:44 AM) @patryn33 I have this Longine. RM8 - 9k retail about a year back. It's a 42mm. Nice understated classic watch. Besides the font which I dig, I loved the way the seconds hand moves - like a Rolex.I love the Longines in the picture above, is it from the masters collection? How much would they cost in RM? The Frederique constant Classic / heart beat looks sweet as well. Wats the price like? Too bad no date on the Milgauss, I saw the green crystal one and always wondered if there was a date version. I could be wrong, but I think most of the IWC watches are also magneticlly shielded - I know the Ingenier is, but the price range is different ! Somehow I think the Rolex will retain better value though. This post has been edited by RJdio: Aug 5 2010, 12:58 PM |

QUOTE(ck77 @ Aug 5 2010, 02:12 PM) How does the Rolex second hand move? It will the same for all mechanical watch. haha I guess I meant it's a continuous sweeping movement. Yes Rolex does hold better value than IWC, in general. I'm a real newbie in these matters, but I think how fast the "seconds" hand moves is driven by how many oscillations per second. 25,000+ me thinks. |

Other than movement whats the difference between a Laco/Stowa Pilot watch and one from IWC ? Secondly, why is it so hard to find one that is water proof with a date. Im thinking about one of about those Mark XV1's.. |

QUOTE(patryn33 @ Aug 21 2010, 08:32 PM) other than COST, IWC inhouse movement vs Stowa/Laco ETA. Hey thanks for the info. The one above is the one I'm interested in. Im going to HK next month - do you think it will be cheaper there ?finishing on case and movement. and IWC offer soft iron core for magnetic protection. IWC has AR coating, Laco/Stowa don't think so. IWC Mark XVI movement 30110 is made by ETA. base off ETA 2892. there is no water proof watch. water resistance yes. whats your budget? its not that hard. IWC mark XVI ![]() |
