hi all, i'm looking for a new watch since my old tissot broke down last week.

my budget is not very high, ard 10k RM.

did some research and it will be between Omega or Mont Blanc.

would like to check with all the expert here, which of the above is more worth it? i'm quite noob in watch...thanks.!!!
*
I will choose Omega with Co-axial movement. Good calibre with 8-9 years service interval, oppose to normal ETA movement that require 5 years service interval.

QUOTE(chuakz @ Oct 4 2010, 12:49 PM)
anybody can recommend me a watch that is suited for all occasions? should it be leather strap or metallic? and what's the cheapest automatic watch that one can buy nowadays?
*
Find one that you like. Seiko 5 less than RM200.

+1 to Monte Carlo chrono. But my only consent is the servicing issue on piggy back chrono.

servicing would cost more.
then its just a 2892 plus a module, for that price not cheap.
it like getting 1 of those jean richard older chrono at a third of the cost.

Thanks!

Banking mortgage line? I would suggest investing on something like a stowa antea, or maurice lacroix line for the long run. More of a serious watch for serious financial business.. Casio isn't really suitable imho...seiko is alright but its kinda common. The pieces I mentioned would make you stand out from the crowd, & show that you appreciate the finer things in life. Plus if you meet high rollers wearing rolex, iwc, and the likes..you can strike a topic on watches with them, leave an impression and hopefully close the deal. I would avoid common brands like tag or omega for this purpose as its common to the affluent and depending how rich they are it might be of no value to them...whereas a piece like stowa that they've never heard of..you can charm them with the rich history behind it. Always find common interest in the potential client to close the deal right. =) just my personal opinion.

you can afford a nice Stowa Antea with your budget.
2000RM is ~USD$630 or ~EUR$460

A Stowa Antea only cost ~US$430 add shipping thats still under US$500
http://www.german-watches.com/cgi-bin/lsho...&gesamt_zeilen=

U can try a Guinand too, at EUR$495 (that includes German VAT), you don't pay german VAT of 16% thats EUR$416+ add shipping it would still be in your budget.
they do not have a rich history like Stowa but they do have some. They build Sinn at 1 pt and may have even made Bell and Ross too.
http://guinand-watch.com/index.php?option=...=179&Itemid=416

good value but little to no history.
-STEINHART "Aviation GMT automatic"
http://www.steinhartwatches.de/index.php?i...r=256&Sel_ID=25
-D. Freemont, this is at US$500 and all watches are timed just prior to shipping a copy of the actual computer setting is included.
http://www.dfreemontwatches.com/new_yorker.htm
sometimes they do list stuff on ebay too.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=280571500400

ML i don't think with your budget can find anything, not even quartz iirc.

Rolex datejust ladies iirc its ~15%
Tag Heuer its ~25%

discounts are controlled, attempt to pay cash and get the sales person to give you a better discount.

One more suggestion is Seiko JDM, which is not commonly found locally.
