Most of their requirements are indeed lower than the generic cards. Anyway, if one particular partnered card benefits me a lot, then yes. I will definitely jump into it without a second thought.

So have you apply for the EonBank VS already? tongue.gif

Hi Guys,

I'm planning to request for a Platinum card from Maybank and/or Citibank.

Does anyone here knows their yearly subscription charges? any FREE for life offers by any banks? what is the minimum salary to be eligible for this type of card?

Thanks in advance.

I think Citibank is much easier compare to MBB, for the platinum card.

Hi Alec,

Yeah, I think so too.. lately MBB has been giving me very bad service when it comes to credit cards... I really think I want to cut their cards... but sadly because of Maybank2u it made me think twice... cry.gif

Further to that their credit limit is so LOW!

Anyway, I'm keeping an eye up for any offers that is too good to resist tongue.gif

No. I haven't and i don't intend to. I do however plan to apply for the Citibank Cash Back Platinum VISA once my current credit card reaches 1 year in a few months time. I have done the calculations and i really can save a lot of money using it biggrin.gif

RM550 and RM600 respectively. Anyway, Maybank does offer two VISA Platinum credit cards that are free for life. Both are the Petronas VISA card.

CIMB Bank Platinum MasterCard. Can apply using an existing Platinum card from any other financial institutions that you've been holding for at least one year or you can provide your 3-month payslip and the minimum income is RM80,000/pa.

For Citibank Platinum credit card, the minimum income required is RM100,000/pa.

For Maybank Platinum credit card, the minimum income required is RM120,000/pa

Hi Alec,

Yup, currently a MBB Petronas Gold card holder... but the charges is astronomical!!! 18% OMG!

Hi MilesAndMore,

Based on the min requirement... then I can't qualify... cry.gif nevertheless I am sure they will lower the limit or make an exception later on.

The main reason I want to apply is because I travel a lot... so the current limit I have is too low to pay for my hotels & stuffs... and my company only pays back after 2 weeks based on my claim submission date... so I really suffer... unless I can get higher credit limit on my card.

No wonder you need a higher CL. sad.gif
As I know MBB is hard to get the increase of the CL. Maybe you just try on Citibank, hopefully will get a higher CL. smile.gif

i don't know if this is a common practice. i asked MBB for credit limit increase, they rejected. so i requested for temporarily credit limit increase to 100k, which i fully utilised, fully settled and then days later... they sent me a letter saying my credit limit has been increased to 100k wink.gif

so you may try to do the same, after all, if they know you can pay for it, they will grant the facility.

Finally got my Citibank Cash Back Platinum today.
- Card feels lighter that conventional cc but doesn't affect the usability of the card.
- Design wise ... look like someone printed the card using a laser printer. (or feels like it) Personally I like the design as I am bored with the usual Platinum card design which is basically a souped up silver card look.
- The credit limit is half of the full credit limit but I have no issues with it as I hardly use the CL anyway.
- I have no complaints besides that ... this card give a possible alternative to JustOne (Should JustOne no longer apply its rebate policy)

No. Was talking about the conventional Maybank Petronas VISA Platinum and Maybank Ikhwan Petronas VISA Platinum issued by Maybank Islamic.

May be you can switch to Alliance Bank Younique MasterCard ? The interest is much lower at 9%, if i'm not mistaken.

I queried SCB on Saturday and received their call today. The officer informed me that my JustOne card was approved in June 2009, so that they charged the service tax in June 2010. However, a fresh rebate will only start on 1-7-10. I have to swipe 3 times in June in order to be awarded 11,000 choice points. All these 3 transactions will not earn any cash back.

If you choose the "Great Rates" plan at a fixed interest at 9% per annum, you won't be getting any cash back. On the other hand, if you choose the "Great Rebates" plan, the interest rate will be 18% per year but you will get attractive cash rebates.

I am OK with the limited edition FIFA World Cup merchandise. This is my first time winning something from Alliance, despite spending so much with their cc. Btw, I was so disappointed with North Korea just now, 0-7 to Portugal!

I do agree with your view. I waited a month to get Amex Gold cc. Thus far I have gained lots of cash rebates and points from this card.
