Hi Guys,

I'm planning to request for a Platinum card from Maybank and/or Citibank.

Does anyone here knows their yearly subscription charges? any FREE for life offers by any banks? what is the minimum salary to be eligible for this type of card?

Thanks in advance.

I think Citibank is much easier compare to MBB, for the platinum card.

Hi Alec,

Yeah, I think so too.. lately MBB has been giving me very bad service when it comes to credit cards... I really think I want to cut their cards... but sadly because of Maybank2u it made me think twice... cry.gif

Further to that their credit limit is so LOW!

Anyway, I'm keeping an eye up for any offers that is too good to resist tongue.gif

Hi Alec,

Yup, currently a MBB Petronas Gold card holder... but the charges is astronomical!!! 18% OMG!

Hi MilesAndMore,

Based on the min requirement... then I can't qualify... cry.gif nevertheless I am sure they will lower the limit or make an exception later on.

The main reason I want to apply is because I travel a lot... so the current limit I have is too low to pay for my hotels & stuffs... and my company only pays back after 2 weeks based on my claim submission date... so I really suffer... unless I can get higher credit limit on my card.

The easy way out is to just get another card. That should hypothetically double your CL.
There's no need to rant about MBB (or any other bank) not giving you a higher CL. If they don't want to give you then so be it.

I don't even bother to apply for CL increase from MBB as I know the chance is pretty slim. So far I satisfy with whatever amount that is being offered to both CC from MBB. One from MBB conventional banking and the other is from MBB Islamic banking. Both are using separate CL.

Hi Guys,

Both of you are right when it comes to applying another card. However I would want to avoid making our gomen RM 50 richer by having additional cards.

Well, I guess at the end of the day I will need to just keep 1 card and try to get CL as high as I can.. cry.gif

Show your income statements to the bank. If you have a good payment pattern, I do not see any reason why your request is rejected. It will be a different story if your CL has just been increased recently. Banks have their own policies too and can't keep increasing your CL within a short period. Besides, if you only earn RM2000 to RM2500 per month and no other proof of income and savings, it is not right to request for a higher CL too.

Hi Winner,

I agree with your statement whereby banks have their own rules too. Sadly this rule is not shared to the public thus raising questions marks everywhere for credit card users.

The last time I request for a higher CL they increased it by RM2K & that was like 4 years ago. Anyway... I will take your suggestion to re-visit maybank and get them to increase my CL.
