I've come to sense after all these years, that why should we put it in?
Like you mentioned; it can always be done during the interview itself.
When you've been in the industry long, the question to ask is "How much you can pay me?", directed towards the interviewer instead of the opposite of someone asking you what is your expected salary.  wink.gif

yup... i totally agree with b00n...
i always don put... and if they think my experience fits, they can ask during interview... and normally expected salary, my first answer to them is "as u deem appropriate for the new position and commensurate with my experience" - only when they ask the second time only i give... haha, giving them a hard time... doh.gif

what if the person who ask for your current salary is not your interviewer? last week, i went for an interview and the HR manager request for a copy of my salary payslip. since i'm not comfortable revealing my current salary, i give him my reasons.

this is the part i like clarification from you guys, he mention it is normal for company to keep my payslip copy as reference. i mean, do company nowadays ask for interviewee payslip? it can still be accepted if interviewer ask about my current salary halfway, instead i was requested to give them a copy even before they start the interview.

what should i do in such situation, i wasnt given a choice to reject at all.

ps: hr manager was not my interviewer

Don't write your resume in table form. Managers hate it. It is best to write them in paragraphs.

On your second question, did you send the application letter to any specific person? If no, then it should be alright to reapply again in Jobstreet.

Normally, we do not give the slip. Pay slip is just for confirmation that we are earning that much.

HIHI. i'm new here and was browsing thru and saw this post.

from my experience, YES, do not put ur expected salary. i always put and always get low low one. for eg, i was applying for one job thru a fren, so she told me salary was 1.2k so i put 1.2k. then the manager asked if im willing to get another similar job but is regarding IT, meaning more stuff to pick up. so i was like sure.. then see see all my other collegue salary much higher than mine.. they are getting 1.5!!! geram!!! sometimes i reli wonder y manager also wanna be so cheap doh.gif

hi everyone,

is it proper if i send my cv to the company even though the company didn't publish any vacancies?

i put my cover letter title as 'Application For Engineering-Related Position'.

and which is better, send cv thru email or mail? some said mail is better bcoz the company see your efforts to post it. icon_question.gif

pls advise...

yes, its good to send a cover letter attach with resume if you are keen in joining that particular company. Who knows in future, where there's any vacancies opens up. Your resume will be KIV, eventhou the position is not exactly the one you are applying for.

Hi all

Just wanted to ask , is it okay if I do not furnish my payslip unless the company confirm wants to hire me?

And what should I put in my resume about my salary? Do i total up everything including any bonuses (annually) and divide by 12 to get monthly salary?

Hope my question isn't confusing.
Appreciate the reply though.

The truth is it doesn't really matter.
But anyway, it depends on how you want to look at it.
Jan whole month - 1
Feb whole month - 1
Mar whole month - 1
Apr whole month - 1
May whole month - 1
Jun whole month - 1
Total = 6

I am not too sure, that's why I am asking.

Could be 5? Could be 6?

No doubt, there's little difference
