Info About BMW

QUOTE
History

After World War I, BMW was forced to cease aircraft (engine) production by the terms of the Versailles Armistice Treaty. The company consequently shifted to motorcycle  production in 1923 once the restrictions of the treaty started to be lifted,  followed by automobiles in 1928–29.

The circular blue and white BMW logo or roundel is portrayed by BMW as the movement of an aircraft propeller, to signify the white blades cutting through the blue sky – an interpretation that BMW adopted for convenience in 1929, twelve years after the roundel was created. The emblem evolved from the circular Rapp Motorenwerke company logo, from which the BMW company grew, combined with the white and blue colors of the flag of Bavaria, reversed to produce the BMW roundel. However, the origin of the logo being based on the movement of a propeller is in dispute, according to an article recently posted by the New York times, quoting "At the BMW Museum in Munich, Anne Schmidt-Possiwal, explained that the blue-and-white company logo did not represent a spinning propeller, but was meant to show the colors of the Free State of Bavaria."

BMW's first significant aircraft engine was the BMW IIIa inline-six liquid-cooled engine of 1918, much preferred for its high-altitude performance. With German rearmament in the 1930s, the company again began producing aircraft engines for the Luftwaffe. Among its successful World War II engine designs were the BMW 132 and BMW 801 air-cooled radial engines, and the pioneering BMW 003 axial-flow turbojet, which powered the tiny, 1944-1945-era jet-powered "emergency fighter", the Heinkel He 162 Salamander. The BMW 003 jet engine was tested in the A-1b version of the world's first jet fighter, the Messerschmitt Me 262, but BMW engines failed on takeoff, a major setback for the jet fighter program until successful testing with Junkers engines.

By 1959 the automotive division of BMW was in financial difficulties and a shareholders meeting was held to decide whether to go into liquidation or find a way of carrying on. It was decided to carry on and to try to cash in on the current economy car boom enjoyed so successfully by some of Germany's ex-aircraft manufacturers such as Messerschmitt and Heinkel. The rights to manufacture the Italian Iso Isetta were bought, the tiny cars themselves were to be powered by a modified form of BMW's own motorcycle engine. This was moderately successful and helped the company get back on its feet. The controlling majority shareholder of the BMW Aktiengesellschaft since 1959 is the Quandt family, which owns about 46% of the stock. The rest is in public float.

In 1992, BMW acquired a large stake in Californian-based industrial design studio DesignworksUSA, which they fully acquired in 1995. In 1994, BMW bought the British Rover Group(which at the time consisted of the Rover, Land Rover and MG brands as well as the rights to defunct brands including Austin and Morris), and owned it for six years. By 2000, Rover was making huge losses and BMW decided to sell the combine. The MG and Rover brands were sold to the Phoenix Consortium to form MG Rover, while Land Rover was taken over by Ford. BMW, meanwhile, retained the rights to build the new MINI, which was launched in 2001.

Chief designer Chris Bangle announced his departure from BMW in February 2009, after serving on the design team for nearly seventeen years. He was replaced by Adrian van Hooydonk, Bangle's former right hand man. Bangle was famously (or infamously) known for his radical designs such as the 2002 7-Series and the 2002 Z4. In July 2007, the production rights for Husqvarna Motorcycles was purchased by BMW for a reported 93 million euros. BMW Motorrad plans to continue operating Husqvarna Motorcycles as a separate enterprise. All development, sales and production activities, as well as the current workforce, have remained in place at its present location at Varese.

Hi guys, i'm interested on an E36. But as all of you know, it's at least approx 15 years old like that. Will there any problem with the enginer, fan, aircon and etc?

I saw on motor trader around 30k+-. How's the car performance?
Anyone can help me wit that? smile.gif

it's really subjective...

recently drove an uncle's old E36 and it runs fine. Great FC on the highway. Dual Climate AirCon. Leather Seats (a bit worn out). Great driving experience indeed... Servicing done at some local shop with oil and filter change cost less than RM200.

what you would get from used car sales man can vary.. you may get a good one, you may not.

Is RM30k for such a car worth it? Damn sure it is...

You don't see a lot of 320 for sale... 325 and 328 got la... Not a lot of people would want to pay for RM880 (for the 325) or RM1600 (for the 328) for road tax on such an old car.

I think the 318 is fine. Underpowered yes, definitely... but still smooth on the highway. Drives at 140 very smoothly.

i think the older models of bmw cost more to repair/service cause their parts are becoming rare.

Maybe ur fren kena potong...actually its not that much...even e46 gearbox around 6k like that... but i'm prefer to rebuild the gearbox as it gets new part instead buy used gearbox which you dont know when its going to kaput too..

Nowadays, i've seen a lot of people said bmw very high maintanance, price of spare part very expensive..actually Bmw maintanance are not very high if you go to a proper shop..Do survey the workshop 1st before you go. Most of shop want potong you if u're noobs into bmw.

I myself driving a 330ci E46. Parts are not expensive as most people said.

Normal service (engine oil,oil filter and labour) will cost RM250 like that for 4 Pot engine(318i) and RM368 for 6 pot engine (320i,325i,328i,330i)

for those who want to buy bmw, do survey the information about specific car at bmwclubmalaysia or udmowners.

There's a few trusted workshop to send your bmw. Remember, always send the car for full diagnostic checkup before you buy any bmw car.

i totally agree with what you said bro. there are many ass-holes out there that say owning a bmw is a luxury. once someone told me that a normal service for a bmw 525i will cost around 2k. i was really shocked. but after i got myself into bmw"s. i realised that its not a luxury.
it only cost about rm 400 for servicing a 525i.

but trust me guys. every cent u spend on the car, is really worth.

BMW ROCKS

the headstone actually more expensive than a second hand BMW, 75k USD, one solid piece of granite from china, and it actually weight less than a real BMW. shocking.gif

and who is johnkor, did he die or something?

KeV it's not too late to turn back from the dark side haha. I went to test drive the 320d and 325i, great cars but a bit on the expensive side. Still looking for a 4-door 330i somewhere.

Too bad my cooling fan failure last few days.

Waiting for the resistors, relay and fan control box to arrive... Spare parts are hard to source thou..

People tends to say conti spare parts expensive, not really.. It depends on where they bought from.

I've been quote for RM3.5k for a whole cooling fan assembly, while i bought from UK cost only RM800 + RM100 shipping fees, everything genuine.

So what says you?

I've always been in love with BMWs, so when I came to the States to further my studies I decided to get one as it's way cheaper here. Bought a '98 E36 323is, been in love with it ever since I bought it last year. It's too bad I'll have to part with it when I graduate in another year. cry.gif

when u have a conti car, its all about going on the autobahn. the japanese dont have the autobahn and drives in a speed limited 100kmh speed limit

however, when ur at the hills, when no one is watching, u hit emm higher, lol!

even the porsche 911 is also featured in wangan, besides the mercedes SL and the ferrari testarossa. proof that, cars are built for certain reasons. so these small mini hatches are perhaps touge worthy, but not wangan worthy

lol, true japanese do hav lighter cars that makes it more responsive

for "wanggan" issue, the 911 turbo aka black bird light weight too much til it lose to the old 280z
for me, euro cars do hav good top speed

funny thing bout z3 when i drove it, u feel like 80km/h that on the speed meter it only shows 60km/h
n nice thingy bout z3, it's low enough that it does gives a feel sitting on the ground

Dont know, he's in love with the e30/e28 now. Still looking for one, so if anyone has one for sale, or know any for sale, drop me a message!

No importance to engine(but pref 2.0 above) but the body must be in good condition. No rust, accident free most important!

Hello all,

My first time here. Currently driving an '08 City. But recently some random talk with my parents has made me realise that its possible for me to pass over the City to Mum get a BMW.

Is it still worth it to get the E46? And what's the price should be? I've been paying close to RM900 monthly for my city and the thought of owning a BMW really got me thinking.

*
No offense but i think if wanna go for e36, best to go for the 328i la. good torque. only probs is the roadtax and FC. if wanna get 318i might as well as get a waja..... haha. 1.8L but only 115hp ?

KeV it's not too late to turn back from the dark side haha. I went to test drive the 320d and 325i, great cars but a bit on the expensive side. Still looking for a 4-door 330i somewhere.

always a slow car in acceleration, but handling is always good and stable

slow? come on la. the ones u test drive are all equipped with puny small engines only(except 325i but still). try something like 330i or m3 la. and bmw is not about speed only. luxury driving pleasure etc is also important to them... anybody can make a kancil go fast

I would have share it if i did took a picture of it. Sadly i didnt, a ride on it was more fun rather than taking picture of it.
Alor Setar > Penang Island (30minute plus) could have been faster if the road were better.

The r129 sl is pretty under powered if you ask me. My friend drives his dad's one around, and i have driven the car hard a couple of times. Nothing fancy if u ask me, accelerations not that catchy..just looks really darn good! smile.gif
But it could be due to the fact his dad never whacks the car, so its not used to a good spirited drive..

i have to agree as well, the r129 sl300 is a heavy car even with a 3.0L engine it can't be that quick. maybe it will do better at higher speeds though

335 vs 135? same engine, one of them is lighter. 135 by a small margin la.

BMW News Of The Day

QUOTE
BMW’s recently revamped X3 makes improvements over its predecessor in every area. While looks are subjective and we’ll leave aesthetic judgments to you – the physical improvements of BMW’s latest Xdrive are not open for debate.

With a additional cargo capacity over the previous model, this mid-size SUV can now carry 1,600 liters of your prized possessions. A 40:20:40 split rear bench seat facilitates this impressive storage volume when folded flat to the floor; or the ’surfer dudes’ among us can stow boards and beer while seating one or two occupants on the rear bench. Five Adults can share the cabin, though four will ride in greater comfort.

Stretched longer and wider, the X3 now sits squatter, with a more aggressive stance than the X3 it replaces. As a point of reference, the X3 now measures 2 cm shorter than the original X5 – the vehicle that started BMW’s X line.

look at the interior and engine....from the sound also you can tell.

mostly people put hamman or ac snitzer bodykit and exhaust to replicate the m5 laugh.gif

and about the E.

Originally BMW associates made a "e-code" for each generation of a series ("E" stands for Entwicklung, German for development or evolution). These "chassis codes" only change to signify a major redesign of a series, or the introduction of a new series. BMW AG reported in September 2006 that BMW will switch to the letter "F" for their future models, beginning with the F01 7 Series replacement.

Normally people slap on the m bodykit and the grille. But what they miss for the exterior is the carbon fiber trim, and the disk brakes. The brembo's cost a bomb! So not many change it. Besides that you can look at the gearbox. A real m, should have a M gear..also the roadtax is a give away thumbup.gif

I would go for the e90 3 series.

unless u like a big car like the e60 5 series.

Tell us what preferences you would like?

Good mpg? sporty? etc

Actually i prefer the facelifted e90 3 series but my budget is only enuff for the pre-facelift which doesnt have the idrive navigator (which e60 5 series have) i'm a sucker for technology stuff hehe.

imo both are sporty in its own way , only minus point for prefacelift e90 is the rear white reverse light... hmmm...

What u think Johan?

whats your budget for it? im assuming its 150-190k?

hmm then get the e60 then wink.gif

but the e60 is not really sporty sweat.gif which e60 model you aiming for? im assuming its the 520i which is pretty slow sweat.gif due to the weight and power displacement.

considered a c-class? hmm.gif

Nice. E36 is the best 3 series ever. Much better than the unreliable E46.

My dad used to own a 318i. A little bit underpowered but still great fun.

If not for http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1508374/+60 I probably won't be here.

A sad owner of a e36 320i, previous owner did not take good care of the car. I felt that I bought the car for the engine only oTL

I think my exhaust, transmission, and AFM got problem that show lots of symptoms. Now the car is good for traveling up to 140km/h only. Petrol consumption is pretty much very high like 20L per 100km seriously.

What to do? =(

Hi all,

I am planning to get a used E46. Preferably the facelift version. But it seems that the older one is sportier.

Peopl have been telling me that the E46 is unreliable. Can you guys point out the problems? What should I look for when I am finding an E46?

common problems:
- window prone to 'jatuh', will need to replace window motor
- ignition coil
- bushings
- expansion tank tend to crack
- wheel bearing
- the urge to MOD the car

what you need to look out for
- sub frame (especially those with aftermarket suspension)
- gearbox (!)

i have heard that the pre-face tend to have less problems as opposed to the facelift. either way, maintenance might be on the high side, Banyak Masuk Workshop, and Banyak Makan Wang, but the driving pleasure makes it all worth it.

You do know that with just an ecu upgrade the 335 is capable of playing off the m3 right?

Also, bare in mind the 335 is twin turbo, while the m3 is NA.
If im to perform extensive mods on the 335, its capable of leaving the m3 far off!

You're right and how can you compare a modded 335 VS a stock M3? smile.gif If the M3 is with a super charger and just as heavily modded, do you think the 335 is still capable of leaving the M3 far off? I think we should compare in a better manner and in actual fact, both cars are more or less at stock (E92 335i VS E46 M3).

hmm sorry about the vague clarification then!

But wont it be possible when extensive mods on both, the 335 is better? The twin turbo's play a big roll in that!

Anyways, would a 135 play off a 335? I mean the same engine in both, and the 135 is ligher..

based on the PFL.. 335i is an I6 3.0 twin turbo. the M3 is a 4.0 V8. i dont remember the numbers, but the M is about 400+bhp vs the 35's 300+. FL 335i is only single turbo.

regarding 135i and 335i, performance is nearly the same i suppose.. weight is nearly the same, 135i is marginally lighter (less than 100kgs if im not wrong) both do the century leap in the 5s.

superbike will win in acceleration(if the bike rider has the balls and proper throttle technique to keep that front end down) but beamer is just safer and more fun. plus u dont sweat like a madman sweat.gif

next year getting a r1 05 can race with m3 laugh.gif (prolly get left behind in the corners though laugh.gif )

Standard m3 vs modified twin turbo 335 is a different story.

btw which m3 u referring to? m3 e46 or the latest e90 m3?

Before the 335 came out I agree with you, now I'd rather skip the whole M3 E46 or E90 and go for the 335

Here's a better review/comparison between M3 VS 335i by m5boarddotcom

In a car, it's not always about drag speed/acceleration because there are other things like comfort level, handling, etc smile.gif

sah salesguy trying to pull wool over your eyes. 320d top speed is higher than 320i. I have driven the E90 320i, 320d, 323i, 325i and 330i. The 320i, 320d and 325i were back to back, the 323i and 330i were loaner cars that I used for roughly a day each. The 320d acceleration is fantastic, even better than the 325i until you're beyond 150km/h. The 330i is even better but for the price, the 320d combination of torque and fuel consumption is hard to beat. Hard for me to imagine why people are still buying the 320i, Malaysian buyers are lemmings sometimes biggrin.gif

I'll introduce you to a better AB salesguy and we can go for a spin if you're serious. biggrin.gif

I've used the iDrive on the 323i, screen is smaller than the one on the 325i. The GPS is to be honest is not as good as the newer Garmins, POIs are there but the display is dated compared to the junction view/3D buildings on newer GPS now. I guess I don't miss it biggrin.gif

well i guess in malaysia top speed is not that important i think.. more of bragging to friends got la. unless you drive on the autobahn highway in germany.
anyways, in acceleration the 320d might even tapao the 325i la.325 is higher revving car summore. only at the higher speeds the 325i can reach till 242kph where the 320d can only do 228kph.
320d vs 325i discussion:
http://bmwclubmalaysia.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33806

yes in BCM forums(you should join there) you can see quite a lot of fan of 320d, even one of them went overboard until got flamed.

that's the prob man. malaysian mentality. if diesel no good.
but then again the poor quality of malaysian diesel could be the culprit. european's diesel is way better than us.

wahlau, so many bimmers you got to drive mang, gimme a ride la! you should try 335i man.

Hi people,

Im placing my booking for e92 next week. Estimated will be getting the car at the end of the month. If I were to upgrade the stock rims from 17" to Taiwan brand 18" rims, will it affect the car's performance? What are the side effect in the future?

Yea performance is not really important to me lol. Btw how heavy is heavy? and how light is light?

convert to 1jz or m3 is good idea.
but of course 1jz is more sensible choice. but lacks bmw feel.
m3 engine sure hard to find and expensive also harder to maitain. but worth it, at least for me.

New here. Father's car is a recond BMW 630i model. Pretty powerful for me as I've been driving 2000cc toyotas ever since. Great car, it really does give a feel to me. Often I drive around the quiet neighbourhood and on the highway during midnight. It's so quiet even on 160km/h. And especially around midnight when the roads doesnt have a lot of cars, it's such a magnificent car to drive around. wub.gif

oh lucky you.. but it should be the same driving a 530i.. the 6er is more of a cruiser than a sports car.
i wonder how's the performance of the v8 645ci?
also the used values of 645 is lower than 630, i guess because they older.(2003-2004) and bigger cc cars are harder to sell

come check it out. they have the z4 35i, 335i, 135i, x5 30d and lots more for you to test drive. not only do u get to test drive, u even get a small touch of the famous bmw driver training course and u dont nid 2 pay a single cent. all you nid 2 do is just fill in the guest comment cards for us. =) this event is running until the december. every weekend. next week will be at ipoh airstirp. =)

if you do drop by, come look for me. =)
*
I recently attended one of these, it's like the performance days they used to hold before, just that it's now called innovation days haha.

The [insert number here]35is are fun to drive, as are the z4s and there's also a 325i Sports with nearly all the performance parts excluding the seats.

They'll take you through two modules of the driver training in 320ds, which would include stuff like the slalom course and brake tests and such. The funnest I've ever had was the traction one where they let you loose on an oil slicked skidpad, but I'm not sure if they're doing this module for these events.

You'll be taken out in fairly new (>5000km) cars, and encouraged to nail the hell out of them. Full on WOT, kickdown button engaged. You'll be hitting 180km+ on public highways with other traffic, so keeping watch on the traffic ahead and being ready to engage brakes is a very good idea. BTW this kind of abuse (especially what the 320d training cars are put through) are exactly why one would NEVER want to buy a demonstrator car from any authorised BMW dealer here tongue.gif

Recond shud be around 3-4% depends on bank.. Used car will be higher, depends on the aged..the older the car,the high interest would be

320D got lots of torque but at high speed, no 4pot can even close 6 pot engine bro..furthermore diesel model got bau diesel like commercial vehicle.i myself prefer normal 320i,even its stil a 4pot engine but on normal petrol are less maintanance and stil got high value if you want to sell the car later.

Bro I've heard from a friend that getting a BMW is not wise, because when there's some problem with the "motherboard", even small problem, the whole car can't start... need major repair and cost a lot of money. He says that he rather opt for Mercedes because Mercedes does not have this kinda problem. Is this true?

I can understand why you'd get an inline-6 over a 320d but I don't understand why anyone would even consider a 320i over a 320d if driveability is your objective. The 4-pot in the 320i is painfully underpowered, the 320d is far more responsive in day to day use. Both are breathless at high speed but you get to 180km/h way faster on the 320d. Only comfort might a factor, the 320i comes in non M-Sport edition while the 320d is M-Sport only which can be hard on your ass.

I test drove all btw, including the 325i back to back, was most impressed with the 320d overall for its driveability.

For starters, most modern cars, BMWs and Merc included, come with a host of electronics that control a heap of things.
Now, these "motherboards" are electronic boards in modular cases, and are often referred to as control units. This is so that if one unit fails, it can be swapped out for a new one without having to change the working ones. Of course there's a central system linking all these together, so if that fails, then yes it costs a lot, but you'll find such things on every modern car.

The answer to your above question is No, it is not true (although YMMV). Mercs, just like BMWs, can suffer from expensive electronic problems.
As the owner of a couple of BMWs for the past few years, yes I've had to change out some control units, one relating to communications and the other one to gearbox. Yes, it was expensive, but the car worked even with those failures.

Unlike the Merc E-class and SL I had before that. The E suffered from a whole host of mechanical coolant failures (both water and oil) that rendered it unusable for a few days each time, and died on me three times on the road due to those failures. The SL blew its ECU one fine day when I had to be somewhere else, that was quite expensive and inconvenient. Not as much as the gearbox swap it needed at 80k. Or the fact that after a couple of years, the roof no longer worked (5k for that control box - no thanks).

Pretty much why I swore off Mercs. BMWs can be problematic, true, but the reliability of my cars and the better driving experience makes up for it. So everyone has their own opinions, I'd say getting a BMW is a better option, because I've lived through the mess that was DiamlerChrysler. Also, BMWs look better and less of a contractor car tongue.gif

There's a website form that you can fill up, I did that weeks ago but didn't hear anything. Google up BMW Innovatino Days to get the form and phone number. Or you might just call up the branch.

I still haven't get my car to be fixed T_T

I regret buying this car. Very expensive cost me 1k. Problems after problem and hard to be fixed in this area. Not to mention the fuel consumption is extravagant. Probably something broke and it started to drink. Here's the problem.

Fuel and temperature meter broke, and probably some indicator lights

Yep. Feels bad mang, but again e-p0n0s increase by 1 inch in real life when people see its Left hand drive laugh.gif

I also don't know what is the problem because lack of BMW mechanics in my area.

It is just a 320i.

The guy said 1k, he didn't say RM 1k.

Also notice that it's left hand drive and it has km/h not mph in the speedo so it's in Europe most likely. It's an E36 (if I remember) based on the auto transmission gear stick so it's at least 11-12 years old.

So 1k euros while cheap by Malaysian standards is about right (UK prices I think around 500-1500 pounds?)

Actually that car came from Holland. The previous owner said it brought a lot of misfortune to him. So he want to quickly sold it off before going back to Holland. As a good kind sir, I took his offer of RM1k only.

That car went through a lot of sad past. A lot of inexperience mechanics handled that car, by the time I received that car, its in a terrible condition, alarm stripped off, no central locking, radio busted.

The owner did not read the manual provided with the car. So one day he jump start the car directly from the battery. When he drove back the hood emit black smoke, from there sure something blew but do not know which.

Any idea?

1k is dirt cheap, but LHD are priced really low here. who want to buy with the hassle of overtaking in trunk roads and paying tolls?

First- I would 1) Change the battery to see if it erase the lights on the dash.

2nd- Bring it for a full fluid change- Oil, Coolant.

3rd- Fuel gauge & temp- Check the fuse & relay to see if its faulty- Your profile says you are in Miri- I recommend you to drive your car to Brunei- As Brunei(BSB) has more BMW specialist & computer tools to diagnose your problems.

4th- The brake light- If it has rear lights- & the message appears- It's the brake light switch needs changing.Nothing serious.

1) Did that already. Dashboard no problem but then the fuel and temp still not working, so off to 3)

2) IIRC, did so already

3) Wanted to already, that's the most suspicious place where it can get faulty lol. And yes I do know brunei has more BMW specialist since they bring in BMW as well, but I do not know Brunei well.

4) Brake electric failed. Entire brakes light isn't working, except for 3rd brake light.

Oh yeah one more input, apparently the fuel and temp gauge failed with the brake electric. Wonder why. Maybe because of fuse. Happens after I cross a bump.

Don't be a typical Malaysian who can only afford the car but not the maintenance. If you can't afford it then don't buy it. Road tax and insurance are just one small part of the equation, think of the engine oil (RM600-800+ per 10k km change), tires (~RM6k every 20k km) and other stuff you have to pay.

I was well into the 5-figure income before I went for my first BMW although granted it was brand new. A recond Z4 would be quite a bit cheaper than any new BMW, just hang around the BMW forums before you jump in, way more sifus there.

dont spend ur money on M3 if you dont really afford..some of m3 parts are double the price compare with standard 3 series part. roadtax if not mistaken around 3500..inssurance depends of the price.

why the hell you bought m3 then downgrade the engine? rclxub.gif

ah u noe where is the cv shop in malaysia =P?

Actually that car came from Holland. The previous owner said it brought a lot of misfortune to him. So he want to quickly sold it off before going back to Holland. As a good kind sir, I took his offer of RM1k only.

That car went through a lot of sad past. A lot of inexperience mechanics handled that car, by the time I received that car, its in a terrible condition, alarm stripped off, no central locking, radio busted.

The owner did not read the manual provided with the car. So one day he jump start the car directly from the battery. When he drove back the hood emit black smoke, from there sure something blew but do not know which.

Any idea?

rm 1k for a bmw. thats awesome. even spending rm 20k to fix it is worth it. there are many 3 series being sold in the market which is probably worst than your car (CKD don't last well) and yet still cost more than 30k

Buying an m3 than downgrading it, is like buying a 50 inch LCD tv, and chopping it into half.

Worthless aint it?

i saw the pics from the phone of one of the sales advisors @ingress. also, at this point, i would like to declare that -ahem- we were told to just drive and not worry about the speedometer...

having said that, still no excuse for driving recklessly.

I wish. Too pricey for me. Insurance will kill me if the price didn't.

I'm getting a used 2008 330xD sedan.

How much are you getting it for bro?? I'm considering getting 1 too. A 2nd 320i e90 in the region of RM180k sounds fine for me, but a car salesman warned me that owning a 2nd hand beemer is not advisable. IF there's problem with the car, i will very much end up having the car more often in the workshop than actually driving it. Not forgetting the expensive repairing fees...

Any comments? hmm.gif

I'm not too sure though. But from the friends of mine driving BMWs I don't hear any complaints.

I'm getting it for 33k euros. New price was 62k euros. It has lots of extras hence the price. I've got it checked out by my mechanic and it's almost new with 29k on the clock.

Maintaining it here in Germany is quite expensive but I did a calculation and for 10000km per year, my cost per km is 90 cents (includes all costs like tax and insurance, loss of value etc).

Yep, all wheel drive diesel.
