the cost is almost the same as mine. So far I am quite satisfied, front + back camera. Can view footage from app that is recorded during parking/driving. Able to download to your phone app. Quality of the footage is ok, acceptable.

2 things to note :
1. view of angle is not so wide, probably 120 degree or 140 max.
2. G-sensor thing is kind of annoying sometimes, just went through a bump and it will make noise alerting you as if accident detected.

I try to buy memory cards from official distributors in Malaysia (Lazda got Sandisk official). This is because micro SD counterfeits are rampant, so I minimize the risk of getting counterfeit ones by going through official channels

It is important to get official ones, as they are reliable

Hi everyone,

I am planning to buy my first BMW.So I decided to go for a second hand.
My budget can scratch until 140K but it doesn't mean I want to go till that level. This car will not be a family car.

So far I have 3 models in mind

The F20 120i M Sport
The F30 320d M Sport
The F30 328i M Sport

If I match my driving pattern, the 120i should be the best match. With almost 100% city driving but with the least power and torque among those three.

The 320d is the most torquey while the 328i is the most with HP.

I think the 120i interior is slightly better compared to those two.

Is the 120i is a good model?

Buying record and used car sometimes really depend on the luck.. I've seen quite a number of people after buying used car for less then a month got their car break now and néed a major service which cost them over thousand.. And some have their used car work like magic.. Years of driving still perfectly in good working condition.

Hi all,

I need help deciding.

I am in the process of buying my first BMW, the brand new 2020 G20 BMW 320i. With the fleet discount plus SST rebate, the price is about 216k without insurance (without Driving Assistance the price is around 211k).

It comes with 5 years full warranty and service as usually expected from BMW. On top of that there is 24 months tyre warranty if registered prior to 1st August 2020.

I initially opted for the without DA which is 5k cheaper and has special BMW interest rates. However, now I feel like I should have chose the one with DA however the BMW car dealer said the car for this month is all sold out thus the one with DA can only arrive next month. I will lose the 24 months tyre warranty as a result.

My question is should I take the one with or without Driver Assistance?

Lane Departure Warning
Lane Change Warning (with speedometer visual)
Rear cross traffic warning and rear collision prevention
Front collision warning with brake intervention (AEB)
Speed limit info with manual speed limit assist

Is the 24 month tyre warranty offered something that I should really go for?

Thank you all. Appreciate the feedbacks.

if i was in your position, i will go for DA. Safety > money all the time.
The 24 month tyre warranty is beneficial but definitely not that important, especially u might not need it after all. Another thing, if the policy is the same as last time, it's not entirely free, subject to length of usage and the tire condition.
maybe can be like me, just continue buying new tires from bmw once you need to change your tire because each tire comes with 24 months warranty also.

Even an uncle driver like me believe every new car must have AEB
with so many driver's distraction nowadays, AEB is the one can help to prevent from unwanted circumstances on the road

worth.

Imo.. Tyre warranty isn’t worth it in comparison.. Restrictions in place and you will have to pay up some money if preset conditions are exceeded.. See those 2 I added bold? Trust me, you don’t know you need em until you started using em. Especially that RCTW, on my cx5 it works beautifully and i should expect the same here. Extremely helpful when reversing out of our commonly done parallel parking by the roadside. You know some motorbikes all.. It’s able to detect and warn against oncoming vehicles or pedestrians long before you can see em by sight. And those days you make a mistake or reverse out too hurriedly? The RCP should engage the brakes for you to prevent a collision.

Yes yes... We are great drivers.. But remember even seasoned F1 drivers slip up.. laugh.gif Like others have advised, safety trumps that extra cost. Cuz you never know when you’ll need it and be glad it prevented an accident, saving your life and at minimum...saves you repair costs far more expensive than it costs to get them now.

When i bought the car recently the HP rate was:
2-3 years: 1.88%
4-5 years: 2.08% -> i took this
6-7 years: 2.28%

Hope it helps. Prevailing bank rates is 2.4 to 2.5%.
