If not for http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1508374/+60 I probably won't be here.

A sad owner of a e36 320i, previous owner did not take good care of the car. I felt that I bought the car for the engine only oTL

I think my exhaust, transmission, and AFM got problem that show lots of symptoms. Now the car is good for traveling up to 140km/h only. Petrol consumption is pretty much very high like 20L per 100km seriously.

What to do? =(

I still haven't get my car to be fixed T_T

I regret buying this car. Very expensive cost me 1k. Problems after problem and hard to be fixed in this area. Not to mention the fuel consumption is extravagant. Probably something broke and it started to drink. Here's the problem.

Fuel and temperature meter broke, and probably some indicator lights

Yep. Feels bad mang, but again e-p0n0s increase by 1 inch in real life when people see its Left hand drive laugh.gif

I also don't know what is the problem because lack of BMW mechanics in my area.

It is just a 320i.

^ You are amazing laugh.gif

Actually that car came from Holland. The previous owner said it brought a lot of misfortune to him. So he want to quickly sold it off before going back to Holland. As a good kind sir, I took his offer of RM1k only.

That car went through a lot of sad past. A lot of inexperience mechanics handled that car, by the time I received that car, its in a terrible condition, alarm stripped off, no central locking, radio busted.

The owner did not read the manual provided with the car. So one day he jump start the car directly from the battery. When he drove back the hood emit black smoke, from there sure something blew but do not know which.

Any idea?

First- I would 1) Change the battery to see if it erase the lights on the dash.
2nd- Bring it for a full fluid change- Oil, Coolant.

3rd- Fuel gauge & temp- Check the fuse & relay to see if its faulty- Your profile says you are in Miri- I recommend you to drive your car to Brunei- As Brunei(BSB) has more BMW specialist & computer tools to diagnose your problems.

4th- The brake light- If it has rear lights- & the message appears- It's the brake light switch needs changing.Nothing serious.
*
1) Did that already. Dashboard no problem but then the fuel and temp still not working, so off to 3)

2) IIRC, did so already

3) Wanted to already, that's the most suspicious place where it can get faulty lol. And yes I do know brunei has more BMW specialist since they bring in BMW as well, but I do not know Brunei well.

4) Brake electric failed. Entire brakes light isn't working, except for 3rd brake light.

Oh yeah one more input, apparently the fuel and temp gauge failed with the brake electric. Wonder why. Maybe because of fuse. Happens after I cross a bump.
