yes, you can install 2x 4GB RAM, on your own. the thing is, your MBP comes with 2x 2GB, so my advice is get 1x 4GB first. I saw it around 700+.

If a software uses up all 4GB of RAM, at least there'll be extra for your iCal, Mail, Safari, etc.What do you mean most consumer apps only supports up to 4GB?? You don't run only 1 application most of the time right?Furthermore, never heard before Adobe app only support up to 4GB, in fact, I don't understand that, what does it mean? Meaning there's no different when you run Adobe app on a 4GB and 8GB Mac? Becos Adobe app do not "see" any extra RAM more than 4GB? Hope someone could clarify this |

i guess what he meant was most adobe apps dont get much benefit if u go from 4gb to 8gb.
btw if u guys wanna upgrade to 2x4gb RAM, juz make sure u really need it la. for the price, it's not really "buy 1st lah see how later". |

@CreamMilk
IINM, if the application is not fully 64-bit, then it will not read RAM above the 4GB maximum. effectively wasting your 4GB. my own use is mainly on Apple apps, so I've used a 6GB Mac... was very very nice |

have a few question for you guys who own the latest april 2010 MBP 13inch.
what kind of real life battery life you're getting out of the machine? normally i don't trust the remaining time but i judge it by using the machine for certain period of time, say 30mins or 1 hour, and see how much the battery % dropped in average. seeing many US owners are getting 6~8hours on wifi with messanger/few web tabs with firefox, i'm sure with wifi off it can reach up to 9~10 hours which is what i'm aiming for. though not the most portable laptop (especially compared to my VAIO X) but it sure has the most balance between performance/battery life IMHO. i'm interested in knowing your battery life on: - web/messenger without flash - with flash e.g. youtube/facebook - DVD watching or video clips like mpeg/avi thanks in advance! |

Guys..i bought a original dvd (movie) and played with normal flat CRT TV..(not yet LCD hehehe). The picture quality is up to my expectation (apatah lg kalau LED @ LCD hehehe)..so my thought was if the DVD were to played on my mbp..the quality would be better..but it turns otherwise.. it was similar to other notebook quality...maybe im lack of display technologies knowledge..and hope someone might advice..tq
