QUOTE(xaw5126 @ Jun 24 2010, 04:24 PM) yes, you can install 2x 4GB RAM, on your own. the thing is, your MBP comes with 2x 2GB, so my advice is get 1x 4GB first. I saw it around 700+. try with 6 GB ... cos most consumer apps (including Adobe stuff) only supports up to 4GB. any more is just wasted icic...thx for telling me bro. i thought i could have add in another 2x2gb

QUOTE(Ojimaru @ Jun 24 2010, 06:44 PM) This. If a software uses up all 4GB of RAM, at least there'll be extra for your iCal, Mail, Safari, etc. That's a good point.... Another reason for me to consider on upgrading the rams

QUOTE(Ojimaru @ Jun 26 2010, 07:10 PM) It depends on the codec used to encode the avi in the first place. These days, just use VLC Player. Thx.. Will try out the vlc player anyway I just downloaded a file name perian and now my movies are doing fine

Had been a Windows user for almost a decade And I got a free iPod Touch as well. Enjoying it to the max! Oh ya I wanna sell the iPod. If anybody's interested just give me a shout Edit: Any accessories to recommend? Already bought a silicon case for my keyboard that actually 100% resembles the original one and an Incase Neoprene Sleeve if u r not using any hard cases for ur mbp, i would strongly recommend the MOSHI palmguard (it also comes with the trackguards). the material used is exceptionally great or could i just say its just simply amazing. its like a thin layer of metal and it do feels very good when u rest on it p/s: i'm using a speck seethru satin for my mbp n the palmguard is NOT advisable as it is not compatible anymore with the case unless u do a little modification to the palmguard yourself. the case actually pushes the palmguard out of where its supposed to sit when u clip it on. QUOTE(mannquin @ Jun 28 2010, 12:19 AM) What's with the hard case? I thought the metal enclosure is sufficient to protect it from any damages? And wouldn't it make the macbook look bulky just like cell phones in those plastic cases? Am now considering Bodyguardz. The case protects the MacBook from knocks n scratches. Bodyguardz will make ur MacBook scratch free but it also transform it into Kinda glossy, attracts fingerprints n smudges.

QUOTE(mannquin @ Jul 18 2010, 11:46 AM) I bought the Macbook i5 without upgrading its screen to the matte type because it just uglifies its look. But now I'm having this common problem everyone is facing that is, difficulties in using it under direct light. So now I'm just curious where can I find an anti glare screen protector for this beast? I'm using the i5 15inch FYI. I've already did some research I would like to opt for a screen protector from ClearCal because of its good reputation and its effectiveness. The problem is, I couldn't find it even when I was in the states. Do you guys know where in Malaysia can I get it? Or any recommendations from other brands? U can try the moshi ivisor, it's meant to reduced the glare

QUOTE(angrydog @ Jul 30 2010, 11:53 AM) Has anyone else had problem with pitting/corrosion on the hand rest of their aluminum unibody MBPs? I've only had mine for some 2 months and little black specs/pits are starting to show up where I usually rest my wrists. I am NOT. HAPPY. do u mind posting some pics of the affected areas? would like to have a look btw u could consider using a moshi palmguard to prevent it.

QUOTE(LYW @ Jul 30 2010, 12:20 PM) How effective will the palmguard be??? as i can see, it covers the top part, not the edges, i fear the most is the heat, place a plastic on top, plus the mbp has no proper ventilation like an alienware or a hp envy.. the palmguard is not a piece of plastic...its more to a thin metal sticker... and yes it can help u prevent almost any stains on the palmrest. well as it says "palmguard", i dont see a reason why it should cover the edges? and the mbp does not heat up on the palmrest area as well.. at least for me This post has been edited by gurus: Jul 30 2010, 12:31 PM
