yes, you can install 2x 4GB RAM, on your own. the thing is, your MBP comes with 2x 2GB, so my advice is get 1x 4GB first. I saw it around 700+.

try with 6 GB ... cos most consumer apps (including Adobe stuff) only supports up to 4GB. any more is just wasted

This. If a software uses up all 4GB of RAM, at least there'll be extra for your iCal, Mail, Safari, etc.

Just got myself a brand new Macbook Pro 15" 2.4GHz Core i5 
I'm glad I switched to Mac. Had been a Windows user for almost a decade

What's with the hard case? I thought the metal enclosure is sufficient to protect it from any damages? And wouldn't it make the macbook look bulky just like cell phones in those plastic cases? Am now considering Bodyguardz.

update for my battery issue:


new battery from apple... but i have to pay for that 

after a few calls to apple care and gone through all the hassel, unfortunately i do not get a free battery replacement from apple care, no luck maybe. but i do get a free discount coupon from them. So, i jz purchase a new battery from apple online store with some discount..

jz to confirm, should i take out my battery when using it with power adapter??? a machines technician/worker told me that i should do so to prevent the battery from swollen but i ask her then how about the new mbp with non-removable battery? speechless her 

mine is late 2008 and no acpp... so no more warranty...
even if i do purchased acpp, it does not cover the battery oso..

My biggest problem with it is the fact that closing the lid, scratches the damn laptop.

The edge of the screen sits on the palm rest of the Macbook when closed. You can see the frame of the screen/lid jutting out in this image.

I bought the Macbook i5 without upgrading its screen to the matte type because it just uglifies its look.
But now I'm having this common problem everyone is facing that is, difficulties in using it under direct light.

So now I'm just curious where can I find an anti glare screen protector for this beast? I'm using the i5 15inch FYI.

I've already did some research I would like to opt for a screen protector from ClearCal because of its good reputation and its effectiveness.
The problem is, I couldn't find it even when I was in the states.

Do you guys know where in Malaysia can I get it? Or any recommendations from other brands?

Has anyone else had problem with pitting/corrosion on the hand rest of their aluminum unibody MBPs?  I've only had mine for some 2 months and little black specs/pits are starting to show up where I usually rest my wrists.  I am NOT.  HAPPY.

How effective will the palmguard be???

as i can see, it covers the top part, not the edges, i fear the most is the heat, place a plastic on top, plus the mbp has no proper ventilation like an alienware or a hp envy..
