olights have serial numbers and afaik, if it came from gadgetworld2u, they will honour the warranty even without the receipt so long as the light came from their stock (they keep records). excellent customer service, i must say. had an issue with one of my lights and they replaced the defective unit, no questions asked thumbsup.gif

What are yall's fav "universal" chargers atm?

Currently I got XTAR VC4 and MC1 Ant Plus... Actually I really like the single-bay unit, but considering getting a 2-bay

Guys, my Nitecore TIP can only charge to less than 50 percent. But it is already out of warranty, anywhere to fix it? I bought 2 TIP at the same time, but the other one is still working fine.

I don't have much batteries to charge so my all time favorite is the Liitokala Lii-202 2 bay usb charger with my ivon 2.4a cable and ivon qualcomm charger
It's easy to plop it in, select amp and let it charge vs my overly complex and annoying Fenix ARE-C2 or my Liitokala-lii500 which always take too many steps to just charge a battery. (my fenix charger is auto detect but it always uses the lowest charge speeds)

Do you mean how the runtime is very short even when it's 100 charged?
It's possible that battery is dead from over discharge for too long and require a new battery. (Just buy new one unless you wanna diy hack your light with RC drone batteries)

i suspect that may be the case also. the 3.7v 500mah li-po battery should be easy enough to find but looking at the innards, not a matter of 'plug n play' to have it replaced.

Wouldn't call it impossible still. It's possible if you have a small background with soldering.
A smaller needle tip or a flat head is all it needs to dab and remove the wires.

The only time consuming part is removing the white silicone. Dunk the board in alcohol (methylated spirit from watsons for RM8) should soften it and peel.
Before the alcohol dry you can start soldering since it's clean from oxide now laugh.gif

If you're just plain lazy can just strip the wire and twist with new battery innocent.gif innocent.gif innocent.gif
Just make sure to tape and hotglue properly after replacement to prevent short flex.gif
After all we did remove the factory insulation sweat.gif

Probably will check it out. Now I dunno where I put the old olight lights. While searching I dug out some of my older collection of lights.
Some I have been keeping for years and some are newer. Use to always chasing for higher lumens. blush.gif

Now I go for practical and EDC. Captain Marvel also want one! thumbsup.gif

whoa... i spot a tn 40 in the mix flex.gif

yeah, guess we've all been there... higher lumens, furthest throw etc etc etc. but end of day, for practical considerations, for me it boils down to price/hours of use sweat.gif

query: do you guys take the battery out if not used for a long time (say 3 months or so?). i guess the modern lights have zero discharge on standby, but just curious...

p.s. mr-2, do note that olight's BATTERY warranty is only for 1 year so that's something to consider.

The light indicator changed to green in 30~45 minutes after charged. There is a button the check the status of battery, blink 3 times meaning more than 50%. Mine only blink 2 times, which indicate less than 50% battery left.

Don't think I can afford to DIY, but if you would like to try, I can pass it to you.

I use it often to walk my dog during night time, need to look for alternative. I always attached it to my cap... Any suggestions, TIP2?

I take out the battery and leave it 50% charge or more. My experience with my battery at any 100% battery or fully charge will likely result in blot or leakage if left unattended for sometime. Also do not let your battery over discharge. Both will do no good. If I want to use, I charge it full and go on my Mission. However the battery bloating is more common on my remote control device like car and drone.

I never take out battery. I just twist the tail cap to break the circuit in case scared of parasitic drain. whistling.gif
