New toy. Realized that the Energizer free headlamp is just too weak for deep jungle camping so decided to burn my pocket to prepare for this year end's Gunung Trusmadi expedition (if budget permits)

Field test this sat night camping trip biggrin.gif Got it from texantel at lelong

Not a flashaholic just outdoor enthusiasts so im into stuffs like torches, lanterns, knives, EDC stuff all around. Current light that I've got:

Nitecore HC30
Fenix TK15 (usually kept at home)
Fenix E01 (attached to my car key)

Anyone here using Nitecore LR50? Thinking of getting one plus 4 nos 18650. Seems like a good option when camping / hiking due to the flexibility....

hmm what flexibility? to use as power bank?
or more of convenience so dont have to carry extra gadgets?
cos i dont think it'll do so well if ur walking around etc.

As powerbank, as charger (leech from another friends/hikers actual powerbank:lol:) and as lantern. Currently using NiteCore HC30 as headlamp & Fenix PD32 as lantern (with cloth type lantern attachment from NatureHike)

What can a lantern (LR50)  hmm.gif do that a headlamp can't?
So better to use headlamp no?  hmm.gif

To illuminate camping area. Having headlamp on my head the entire night when camping kinda annoying though. Headlamp is good when you have task to focus on or when you need to go far away from campsite to shit etc but for general lounging at camp, lantern is the better option.

4 pcs 18650? wow... you plan on going off the grid for sometime with those spares?  hmm.gif

if all you need is a reliable, long runtime lantern, the coleman batterylock 400 has pretty good stamina running on easily available 4x d-cells. but yeah, the lr50 has portability and powerbank features that's hard to beat  thumbup.gif

WikiLOC apps using phone GPS eating power like crazy even on airplane mode. Phone battery capacity 4000mah. Each battery is 3400mah laugh.gif

get a flexible 10000mah powerbank, flexible usb cable... and stick a tini in icon_idea.gif
*
TINI cannot do large area illumination. Plus having several 18650 batteries means i can swap the batteries of my torchlight & headlamp in case anything happen. Also LR50 works as charger & only need to steal power from my mates tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif
