Anfieldude, which pana should I get? Am replacing the Samsung which you calibrated. Will need your help to calibrate again this time.

Added on January 31, 2011, 11:43 pmSo the new X28 is HD ready, while V20 is full hd, correct? Sorry, have not been keeping up for a while.

If budget wasn't a problem, then get the V20. So far I only saw 50V20 being offered by SenQ at RM4999 in Sarawak. Rest of the shop still selling a few hundred bucks more out there in Sarawak.

For the set that I calibrated yesterday, I set the contrast to about 70+ and that got me a brighter picture than Cinema. Normal is plenty bright due to the nature of the gamma and white crush. This is for dim room viewing of HD sources. Again, nothing beats a calibration so this is arbitrary.

Thank you. I will try again.

Have had the X10 for about a year, there was IR on Astro 613 (playhouse disney logo at bottom left corner - I use "Just" aspect ratio), then avoided the channel for a few days, then it was gone. This was advised by anfieldude.

Do tell us your comparison.

The problem with shop comparison is, you have no control over the setting. For example, I have seen the U being much better than the X and this is logically to be expected. But I have also seen in shop the X looking better than the U rclxub.gif

In short, the shop can make any good HDTV looks bad if he doesn't want you to buy it.

Hi, i need the best of the best suggestions about LCD/PLASMA TV i can get!

Budget - NO MORE THAN RM2000
Size - BIGGER BETTER!!!
Resolution - Hoping to get 1080p! Full HD! I don't want any blur please!

basically, i have zero knowledge about TV. The rest not necessary be premium features like beautiful color, shading.

P.S : i hope this is about the right place to ask for suggestion. though i expect to get panasonic only. smile.gif

The next gen of Panasonic Plasma is up for preorder in the US along with its prices. However I'm not sure how it correlates in RM if/when it eventually gets here. It looks like 3D is being pushed down to the lower end models. It's to encourage 3D adoption I guess. Lets hope the price remains intact. Check it out here

Got new expensive hobby, but need to change my CRT. So I've decided to take a THP42X20K. I was told that although it is not HD, the unit can still produce good quality HD contents. How true is this? Besides watching recorded HD media, will it be good for watching Astro B.yond?

Full HD only important if you have big screen or viewing distance is short.

42" is not exactly very big screen. And I think if you watch say.....10 feet away, you wouldn't see the difference.

Does any one can update on the plasma tv price here?

eg. VIERA TH-P50V20K , VIERA TH-P42V20K (non 3D)

VIERA TH-P50VT20K (TV with standard spec)

I am a big fan of V series, think of getting a 50" plasma

Will very much appreciated the reply.
