I got to check out the V series black levels, I'm impressed. Its definately in the 8G Pioneer Levels. It was 23hrs and the black levels were about 0.008ft/L. The only problem was that it was fluctuating. Also there was quite a bit of flicker for 24p stuff at bright images.

The V has the pro options/ISFccc and it had the 2D CMS, Greyscale and Gamma controls. Great stuff.

I believe the VT will be lower black levels and shd be in the range of 0.004ft/L.

Line bleed is definately worse than last years sets. The do go bright, but I did not do a full cal.

I owned a C200K, and when I send for service in NZ Wheel they provide me with a C240 for use few day, this is their service provided to their customer. Guess same with HN also.

When you mentioned fluctuating blacks, are you referring to the floating black issue? Or is this normal for new units before break-in period?

So does anyone use the V20 for Xbox/PS3? What picture mode? I noticed that in game mode the aspect ratio does not look correct (a bit too stretched).

Thanks to all sifus here as I managed to check on my new panny 50v20. Total used = 7:45 hrs and total count = 7.

Did some tuning on my dvico with panny and came out picture perfect (for now).

Left default setting on my panny. Will perform amateur tuning on panny when total hrs used > 200.

For the uninitiated who knows nothing about TV picture quality, please explain the unit used here while assessing the picture quality i.e., 0.004ft/L etc. Thanks.

The measure of 0.004ft/L is my assumption on then VT series that has the infinite pro coating, but this is not verified. The reading is the reading of actual black levels. This indicates how dark the display gets. Coupled with the calibrated brightest white levels, gives us the contrast ratio. The normal calibrated white levels are about 40-50ft/L while maintaining accuracy. As you can see the lower the black levels, the higher the contrast ratio, the more pop the image looks like, hence the 3D image that people talk about. Of course, all this needs to be verified with calibration and how well the display tracks greyscale, gamma and colour accuracy. That is what actually matters.

The V20 was also sharp, the perceived sharpness is definately higher than the Pios. But it has some artificial look to it, due to lack of dithering that I observed, meaning, it is less filmlike than I expected. I will post my impressions when I get the chance to spend more time with it.

Do you know that every shop entitled to get 2 units as display units at special price? If you know the taukeh, you can get very cheap price for demo unit unopened. It's true subsequent unit the margin is not so high but if they tell me only untung RM 50, this is bullshit. How can they sustain their shop with RM 50 profit.

It's noticeable. I was watching NCIS LA on AXN HD, and I notice the blurring when the character moves. I also notice certain small pixellation. Maybe it's my eyes that need to time to adjust after migrating to a 50-inch FullHD set.

When I watch NTV7 which is SD, the moving news banner at the bottom will also sometimes get distorted. I've never notice them in my previous set. I can confirm this I read them everytime.

Well, maybe another pair of eyes is needed to really confirm this issues. I can't wait for the 250hrs to be up so that I can get it calibrated by anfieldude.

This weekend I'm going play all the BDs and see if these issues crop up or not. If not, most probably it's Byond's issue.

no towkay will sell you the 2 units lah. He rather take for himself or give the deal to a relative. Nowadays even the apek also pandai lah, they know how to use forums and ebay to sell their product.

Trust me, in Malaysia, no way can you get a super deal.

You are right, no way can untung RM50 only. Some dealers think consumers are so stupid. I have even heard, untung RM20 or RM30 sahaja.

That is why, I am grateful we have our online dealers here in this forum. They give us genuine deals at the same time making a reasonable profit for them to earn a living.

We should give our fullest support to our forum sellers and deal only with them if possible.

Went to Harvey Norman just now, comparing panny and LG plasma tv side by side, actually found that the picture quality of LG is better vs the panny U20. The sales person claimed that it was due to the cable linked to the LG 1st then goes to the Panny. How true is this? if that's the case we can't even trust what we see as what we see may not reflects the actual qlty.....

Anyone here who just bought new TV had any problem with Panasonic e-warranty website? I keep me to server error page, 404-File or directory not found.

If you look at how much space Panasonic is getting in the display area as compared to LG, you'll know LG and Sammy are sweetening HN with hugh commission and A&P (Ads & Promotion).
Pana's margin to dealers are quite thin and more Panashops concept store will be their priority now; just like Sony. HN is scalling down on Pana maybe due to this??
Also, was told that Desa Home is not even Pana Dealer and they got their units from Pana Dealer s opposed directly from Pana Malaysia. Is it thin margin or bad paymaster? All dealers knew.

G25 series? Isn't this only available in North America region? Should be the same as the Malaysian V20 series with a larger screen size, and with THX mode but also without USB recording.
