Any 1019 owners here? or any Pio AVR owners for that matter...

What mode do you guys normally use for movie, music, etc?

I am using Direct on my 1019 with my Oppo 80 set as stream direct. Is there any differences between Direct and Pure Direct? I do not really hear any difference.

KuroControl will not work for the KRP-500/600A as it only works for the Ms. The codes were different for the As and the Ms. For the As the only option is controlcal.

As far as I know controlcal is the only software that enables the ISF modes for the 8Gs. The Pioneer guys will have the ability to enable the ISFccc modes as well. Also the protocol for the 8G is different from the 9G. So I doubt anyone took the trouble to go write a freeware for the 8G.

Hello everybody. I am a newbie on this forum. How do I post a simple message on this particular here?

Added on May 8, 2010, 12:49 pmThink I got it. Can finally see my message up on Pioneer forum.

Hello everybody. Just like Stardust and Alias, I recently purchased a Pioneer Krp-500a in addition to my year old Pdp-428. Knew I have to get this gem before the stock depleted, so after a 6 month long wait for the price to drop, and many visits and phone calls to the retail shops in Penang, I finally made my move.

The 500a is now in the living hall, and the 428xg has been 'promoted' to the bedroom upstairs. Both looks esthetically gorgeous in black bazel and blends in nicely with the furniture.

By the way Stardust, did you get a brand new set with a 5 year guarantee? $12k is really cheap, considering you got a Pioneer Bluray 320 worth $1.5k, much cheaper than what I paid for.

Please do enlist me into your list of proud Pioneer plasma owners. Thanks. thumbup.gif

Congrats. You got the best deal ever. Too bad, up north here not much competition and very few retailers carry Pioneer plasmas. Only Harvey Norman Queensbay Mall and SenQ Gurney Plaza have Krp-500 on display; they don't give much discount or free gifts unless you really adamant you want some freebies or else no deal!

The ISF Modes can only be enable with Controlcal which is a paid software. Also enabling the ISF modes still requires a meter to calibrate to.

I got the Calman software and sensor. Just don't have enough documents/info to get started especially the beginning bit in enabling the ISF mode.

Cool. Which meter did u buy?

My advise for you would be to start calibration in the Movie mode and start learning the ropes. I can help u if u want.

The ISF modes u need to pay for Controlcal. Its not related to Calman.

Got the Calman with the basic Spyder 2 meter. Didn't want to pay for the EyeOne Pro ha ha.

Is it true that the European models already got the ISF enabled? So I'm guessing the Asian versions is quite similar to the NA versions in that they do not have the ISF enabled?

Then I read somewhere that I need to purchase the patch to enable ISF modes. Its rather confusing what to do to get ISF modes since there's not a lot of info on the Asian models. The NA models there's abundance of info.
