all sifus.. i know this Kuro model is a big thing in this forum... but correct me if i m wrong.. i heard Pioneer is closing off in like 2 yrs time, and rumors saying they already sold their TV technology to panasonic, especially plasma
is that true at all?
*
No, that's wrong information.

Pioneer only ceased its display division. They still enjoy a remarkable market for Car audio as well as home entertainment products.

The actual Kuro; namely KRP-500A and KRP-600A should be off the market by now due to the frenzy buying before CNY unless there are some dealers who are still holding some stocks.

KRP-500A in abt RM12K range while KRP-600A is at abt RM23K. IMHO, this is the best display panel in the market.

There will be a pre-order for the new SB series. Once I had the confirmation from the principal, I'll PM you. Don't want to hijack this thread.

I wish Pioneer would dump MCACC and move to Audyssey. That's my main gripe with Pioneer AV Amps...
*
Yes, me too. It wld be a leap fwd if Pioneer use Audyssey. MCACC is as crappy as YPAO for room acoustic correction. Imagine LX Series using Audyssey MultEQ XT and DSX.

Bro,

I know you're in the market for an AVR. This would be a great opportunity to check out a reference AVR.

Too bad, I'll be flying off for a biz trip again.

Do tah pau some siew pau for me on the way back, ya?  tongue.gif

Kudos to you for organizing this!  notworthy.gif

Allow me to echo your intention. This beauty below is definitely worth checking out if you're serious into AVR. One thing for sure, it is rarely seen as display model out there as dealers would be crazy to put it on the shelf as this beast is so flucking expensive! Hmm... I can only imagine 9.1 setup test, perhaps?  thumbup.gif

Btw - I'm also very curious about the Pioneer TAD-R1 speakers. Will it be available for testing someday too?  biggrin.gif

This dealer has a few units of LX-90 at his shop. One for demo. He has the TAD loudspeakers on demo too, which is being partnered with SVS PB13-Ultra.

FLAGSHIP AV is the sop name. Located in Waterfront @ Desa Parkcity. Look for Koh or Karen. Just tell him that Max told you to audition wink.gif

Actually, Susano is from them as courtesy audition smile.gif along with Bel Canto amps

Yes, shall let you know once it is here. I just want to know whether it will outperform Denon 4310 + Emo XPA-5 by big margin or not and how good it is to drive MTS-01 system

Maybe have but owner lay low.

I am itching to try it out. Then, if time permits and with permission from the owner, I might bring it over to Taukeh mpyw's pad to test it out wink.gif

I don't think so...even now the 50" KRP-500 are going very fast and need to search for it already....
*
AFAIK, Pioneer Msia does not have any stock for KRP-500 as well as KRP-600. Those that are available, probably are the final few units being kept by dealers. Grab it while you can wink.gif

It's been almost a year since they announced their withdrawal from the display panel market. I doubt they would be back anytime soon.

if i can find a KRP-500A for Rm12,999, should i go for it? I know the price can get lower during the times when stock was available. 13k if a few years ago aint that much for a flat screen but today when prices are so low, i wonder if its prudent to spend so much on one. comments appreciated

Boss, a few owners got it for less than RM12K in KL/PJ. Try Desa wink.gif

Today, I did a hands on setup on LX-81. The MCACC is totally different from Audyssey. However, it only measures on 1 specific location unlike the Audyssey. It's fast and there are quite many options to play around if you are very knowledgable in science of sound.

LX81 only have the MCACC but the LXx2 onwards have the Advance MCACC which can measure 6 points I think....and even after u measured, the Pioneer let you to tweak it from the saved measurement unlike Audyssey would not let you even touch it.....
*
Does the new MCACC enables user to change the setting of x.o for each channels? The saved measurement can be tweaked in LX81 but one needs to have in-depth understanding of sound. I am not one of them sweat.gif

Not so good to put the contact number here as some might 'abuse' it and importantly, have to seek permission before posting. Still, IMHO not that good to post. PM would be better.
