You can try HiwayLaser....tongue.gif

The non-Elite LX, to differentiate,

LX52 full model number --> VSX-LX52
LX72/82/90 ---->SC-LX72/82/90

LX52 belongs to the VSX family and is top of the line for that range....

Maybe have but owner lay low.

I am itching to try it out. Then, if time permits and with permission from the owner, I might bring it over to Taukeh mpyw's pad to test it out wink.gif

Good observation! I just realized that even LX-70 falls under the VSX range.

LX-70 is also tuned by Air Studios and comes with THX insignia. One of the few subtle differences between the top of the line VSX and SC is ICE power.

Is it worth paying the extras for it? hmm.gif

As far as BDPs are concerned, let's compare BDP-320 and BDP-LX52. They have pretty much the same features & functionality.

However, BDP-LX52 comes with Multi-Surround PQLS and is equipped with more sophisticated insulators and sound capacitors. Reports also indicate better PQ compared to BDP-320.

Does anyone here own a big mama BDP-LX91? PQ is reference material but just curious about how great the PQ truly is considering the hefty price tag ! sweat.gif

The Class D implementation in the form of B&O's ICEPower modules seem to have elevated Pioneer Susano concept ( SC ) receivers to a different league altogether. Nothing wrong with AB amps in the VSX series but ICEPower certainly is different sounding and in fact many reviewers have found them to sound just rite with nice warmth compared to the VSX range. Well I for one have experienced that myself.
The LX71 certainly sounds crisp and warm for normal stereo listening which I've never experienced with my previous VXS receivers. But then , I've never had a top end VSX before just the normals ones smile.gif

Besides, my previous receivers or amps have never run this cool before , the SC amps gets a little warm and stays that way.
I've also observed the current intake just to work out the power consumption, believe it or not...it stays a constant 0.5A at 240V . That's like 120W consumption for such a powerful amplifier . I've also tried pushin it to it's limits by directing all the sub bass to my main floorstander ( wharfy 9.6 ) and played back one of my favorite bass scenes ever ! Bruce banner's ravage in the factory in glorious DTS-HD MA. The max current draw I've seen is around 1.2A and that was for a very quick while. So that shows how efficient these amps are. And that's without loosing any dynamics .
While we're here, just for an info- my Pioneer Plasma takes in a constant 1 to 1.5A ! wacko.gif

Hi there,

Actually the 42" 428XG was discontinued some time ago. Any 428XGs out there now are from old stock. Still admire the 428XGs whenever I locate them in shopping malls ( saw one in an apple shop in 1 utama ).

Ah, such a pity that Pioneer bows out from the plasma tv revolution that they started in the 1st place. seems like by the time the home reno is done, and i have money to spare, it'll have to be panasonic plasma then. sad.gif

Quite amazing really, the 428XG came out in 2007 and now 3 years later in 2010, its still one of the best, if not the best 42" Plasma.

last night i watch sherlock holmes movies on my 508g with my new rmbv player. quite amaze with the pictures. i dont know whether that movie picture is good or my rmbv player is good or is it because i watch it on kuro.
either or i think this a good reference movie for kuro. unfortunately this is the only tv i have at home thus i cannot compare with other tv yet.

AFAIK, Pioneer Msia does not have any stock for KRP-500 as well as KRP-600. Those that are available, probably are the final few units being kept by dealers. Grab it while you can wink.gif

Is it 100% confirmed that Pioneer have quite production of their plasma TV's altogether?

If it is so, is there any light at the end of the tunnel, that they may return back to the their plasma revolution roots later?

So what's the 2nd best plasma TV available locally [ I really hate those ghosting effect when watching football / auto and bike races ]? Size - wise, between 40 - 50"?

It's been almost a year since they announced their withdrawal from the display panel market. I doubt they would be back anytime soon.
