QUOTE(netken @ Mar 10 2010, 04:39 PM) bro serend .... can help on the below question kah? some ppl say 508XG is not Kuro ... because dun have KRP in front ... anyone can confirm? 508XG is 8th gen .. KRP is 9th gen? Hi Netken, 508XG and 428XG are Kuros. 8th generation Pioneer Plasmas, 1st generation 'kuro's. KRP500A is 9th generation, or some consider 9.5 generation Kuros ; they were the last Plasmas out, I believe they came out end of 2008 while the true 9th generation LX5090 ( for 50" ) came out in mid 2008. QUOTE(anfieldude @ Mar 18 2010, 07:49 PM) I just checked the scaling of the box vs the scaling of the Kuro. I believe the scaling of the Kuro is better by quite a bit. The aspect ratio is better preserved (compared to the linear stretching of the box) with the Kuro's progressive scaling. I guess you must be using the Wide1 option where it stretches progressively towards the sides. This post has been edited by SyriuS: Mar 18 2010, 09:43 PM

From the picture, looks like a 507XG, due to the hint of silver at the back. But I may be wrong So far this is what I've noticed: Bangsar McDonalds : 2 Pioneer 427XG Pusat Bandar Damansara: At least 1 Kuro 508XG This post has been edited by SyriuS: Mar 19 2010, 02:16 PM

QUOTE(asherteoh @ Apr 4 2010, 10:12 PM) does anyone know the difference between the different profiles in our KURO? can we actually use User mode to imitate Movie/Game mode? reason being is i'm using anfieldude's settings for my Movie mode which is good for Blu-rays but my parents are complaining that Astro looks to bright for their eyes... any help/suggestion is much appreciated! I think each profile has a different gamma and white balance so you can't get it exactly the same, but you could get it close. But I'd better let the kuro experts answer this question

QUOTE(serendipity168 @ Apr 7 2010, 01:35 PM) Bravo! A true blue Pioneer Aficionado. Don't think anyone else in this thread owns two KUROs Now let's talk about your AV setup plans for both KUROs Think anfield owns a 428xg too, in addition to his 600m.

QUOTE(poyo @ Apr 13 2010, 06:38 PM) Aiyak..... so that means in the next month or so, no more Kuro's in worldwide market? Even the 42"? So by the time line I stated, best plasma available will be from Pana eh? No more Kuro's? Hi there, Actually the 42" 428XG was discontinued some time ago. Any 428XGs out there now are from old stock. Still admire the 428XGs whenever I locate them in shopping malls ( saw one in an apple shop in 1 utama ). Quite amazing really, the 428XG came out in 2007 and now 3 years later in 2010, its still one of the best, if not the best 42" Plasma.

QUOTE(poyo @ Apr 13 2010, 10:27 PM) Is it 100% confirmed that Pioneer have quite production of their plasma TV's altogether? If it is so, is there any light at the end of the tunnel, that they may return back to the their plasma revolution roots later? So what's the 2nd best plasma TV available locally [ I really hate those ghosting effect when watching football / auto and bike races ]? Size - wise, between 40 - 50"? Hi, I would say the 2nd best plasma TV available ( as compared to the Kuros) would be the Panasonic V20/VT20 series Neo PDP plasmas. Will not be cheap.
