I was at Desa HT, checking out some AV goodies. Under the impression that I was interested in the Pioneer 500A, the sales guy told me the usual blah, blah, blah, can choose between the wall mount bracket or the original TV stand.
What really shocked me was that he suggested that I get the original TV stand as it costs RM1,000 for the stand alone price~!!! Seriously, ah???? |

Anyone has any idea why the LX series is so much more expensive than the regular models (AVR & Blu-RRay Players)?

QUOTE(kalido @ Apr 9 2010, 02:19 PM) yeap....LX is the premium range with all the bells and whistes Kalido..... Thanks for the detail explanation Amongst others, all of the 09/10 LX receivers ( except 51/52 ) features power amp stages build on B&O's much acclaimed ICEPower amplifier modules. A very popular Class-D design that has been putting a bit of smile on the faces of many hardcore audiophiles. If I'm not wrong , Pioneer is the first manufacturer to introduce HD receivers incorporating such amplification. They were also the first manufacturer to research and incorporate room analysis feature in form of the very first MCACC which is in its advanced form in these latest bunch of receivers. They're Pioneers indeed And talkin bout the bluray players , the LX features Pioneer's own SoC chip and provides excellent video processing . It also features PQLS locking which when paired with PQLS receivers ( such as the LX receivers ) produces a jitter free digital signal transmission via HDMI. Then again, 51/52 being LX models as well. How does Pioneer classify them as LX? In addition to AVRs, BDPs also have a LX range as well. Let's not forget the premium HTIBs LX61 & LX70 Premium category, better components is the pitch, at least on paper but it doesn't really go into the details Anyone has a more precise definition on the LX classification?
