Hey sifus,

can i ask which usb dongle can work with ACRYAN POHD?

i know there is a acryan version, but i would like to know about other alternatives. >.<
*
i'm using TrendNet USB Wireless Dongle. RM70 (got it last year i think now maybe cheaper) only got it off a shop in lowyatt...

it works well with POHD...been using since last year no issue....works well with my WRT54G router...

IMHO, no point getting acryan wireless dongle coz max speed u get with wireless is only 5mbps....

Grr...Just received my Toslink cable and excitedly testing the Optical Out from my POHD mini to my Home Theatre which supports Digital Input (Toslink.
On the POHD mini, I've been using HDMI output all the while, so i noticed there's no sound via the Home Theatre.
So i switched POHD mini Digital output to SPDIF. Hurray, there's sound...but problem is there's no sound via the HDMI link now! Meaning, there's no sound from the TV!

How am i gonna solve this problem?
Can't the POHD Mini supports HDMI + SPDIF at the same time?

Please advice.
*
Hi, you can't select both. Since you already hv amp. to deliver good sound effect, why you still need stereo sound from TV? And actually sound from TV will disturb the sound from amp.
Cheers.

Actually we received a lot of complain regarding the other china brands model cannot deliver good speed. Finally they bought AC Ryan wifi and solve the stutter problem when streaming. The max POHD wifi is 13Mbps, not 5Mbps. It depends on your router also. Yours is g, of course cannot get a good speed. Pls do not mislead.
Cheers.

your 13Mbps, is't tested? could u please share how u get that speed (what router u using) and which firmware are u using? which pohd (what chipset)?

because as far as i know, theres a speed limitation in pohd and the wireless speed flucuates a lot ! (if not mistaken based on reading from the internet. the max throughput on the 1073 chip is between 45 and 50 mbps (mega bits per second) or around 6 MBps.

if you can get more than that then pls share with us also share it in the acryan forum. i have follow almost everything in how to section or whatever suggestion, tricks, tips (mention in acryan forum) but max i can get in my setup still around 2.5 to 5Mbps (even after i test using friend Buffalo N router).

also no point using the wireless if u want to transfer large chunks of file. use the usb ! much more faster ! at lease save couple of hours.

lastly, "WHY PAY MORE" (borrow from Xtreamer hehehe), when u can get same function that works which cheaper price. afterall its using the same realtek chipset in the wireless dongle !

I know WC = World Cup but dunno why, "Water Closet" keeps flashing in my mind doh.gif

YAMJ or not, I've been very happy with my original unit and its ability to stream 1080p contents over uPnP to my bedroom from my NAS. Planning to get a "mini" for my living room soon icon_rolleyes.gif

I use a DNS-323 NAS, try to stream from the POHD using UPNP but it's working on certain mkvs.. but not all, wonder is it because of the UPNP server only can play certain mkv formats?

That one only for the Newer 1073DD+ chipset lah, not the 1073DD biggrin.gif

For current AC Ryan (1073DD) the most they can do (if miracle happens) is only downmix or the basic 5.1 not the TrueHD or DTS-MA.

I think you mean OUTPUT to your speakers? It is intended for the media player to be hooked up to an AVR which in turn have speakers connected to it. One alternative is to check if your TV can be connected to your speakers instead
