About next month B.yond RM20 charge, for how long do we have to pay? 1@2 year? hmm.gif

As long as you subscribe it, or until Astro decide to drop it which is very very unlikely. Perhaps they will increase it shakehead.gif

Hi All,

Just had my Astro Beyond fixed at my new flat. Unfortunately its only 1080i on my Toshiba Regza RV600E FHD.

Its seems they are upgrading (usual promise eh)..

Glad to be one of..

No worries, everyone is getting 1080i from Astro B.yond.

Wonder when will Astro release the USB recording function? If yes, what will be the "extra" charges like...

What about SD channels that use widescreen (Enhanced Definition) i.e. CNN, BBC News Or Australia Network? I notice sometimes on Australia Network programming the logo will cut out of the screen partially? Will they finally be transmitted without cropping?

Australia network is 4:3, and their content is letterboxed from it's original 16:9 by them, you can tell this by the way the bug sits over the black letterbox area.
pretty sure the same is true of the feeds we get of CNN and BBC.

I don't think that Berny is actually producing it in HD, is he? It will still be in 16:9 though

Ah, okay. I thought it was cropped by Astro because once or twice I notice the Australia network bug get cut off partially from the edge of my TV screen, and I heard from someone else here saying that BBC was cropped. My mistake.

Edit:
Any set date for the update release? I just left my decoder on for 10 minutes and it didn't pick up any updates. I usually unplug my decoder when not using, become extra paranoid after my router kena sembar kilat.

what sort of PQ issues?

I watched arsenal v stoke replay just now at the start the picture flicked every 4 seconds, very annoying then after half time, the audio seemed to be out of sync and ahead of the picture like 1 sec.

hopefully these dont happen during live matches because that the very reason im upgrading to astro beyond.

btw, the PQ on 1080i is awesome and there doesnt seem to be any artifact at all
