QUOTE(onelove89 @ Sep 2 2010, 04:20 PM) oh hey, you're in taylors too? =) I was from there 2 years ago. um, for what i know UWA's science and research is quite strong as well. I'm not to sure about UNSW though, but both are good universities. It depends on what type of living you'll like to be in. I personally love perth cos it's not too busy or quiet, and yes the public transport just kick ass. =D Syd would definitely be more busy and entertaining than perth no doubt. In the end, it comes down to you weighing the disadv and adv of the 2 sides. which major are you intending to go into? Hey thanks for the reply..im intend to choose biomed, biochem or biotech as my preference. |

QUOTE(MariMo @ Sep 3 2010, 06:01 AM) Hey guys , Well, Industry Design here pretty young, not that sophisticated as UK yet.Noticed that alot of u guys are currently located in Aussies. Just wanna ask which of these Universities has a better reputation for design 1) Swinburne Uni 2) Curtin Uni 3) Monash Uni I am doing postgraduate in industrial design btw thanks in advance I suggest to you to rather go with Swinburne bcos of its connection with skilled based, then you wont just learn theory more of yourself or just design in theory. QUOTE(liverpool2020 @ Sep 1 2010, 12:20 AM) really? i found out that studying here is easier compared back home. I'm a pretty much a lazy student, someone who doesn't study much but surprisingly doing better than i thought. but back at msia, my academic is worst. |

I had recommendation,
Can you guys come with a guide or set of recommendation on on how to rent a place in Australia, how to find a place , or an agent , what are the general procedures like ? and than may be we can add that into beginning of the topic , cause i am thinking of going for off-campus accommodation , and I am not very clear on what should I do , and what to be careful with when I want to rent a place over there? |

QUOTE(jyhy @ Sep 14 2010, 05:25 PM) Different Continents, time zone, distance, currency etc. =PThe education system differs as well. Do a bit of googleing and you shall see there's a difference between their systems. It's entirely up to one's preferences where to go. This post has been edited by Hikari0307: Sep 14 2010, 07:11 PM |

QUOTE(Josep86 @ Sep 14 2010, 07:42 PM) Hello guys, That is not something that can be answered with a simple yes or no. You have to take into account stuff like your financial status, your future plans, compared to what among other stuff. Without knowing these you could even say going to study in Harvard,MIT,Stanford etc. as a waste of money =Pwhy some people said studying in aus is just wasting of money? is it true? it makes me change my mind to further my study in aus... |

QUOTE(JasonMania @ Sep 13 2010, 09:26 PM) I had recommendation, I feel that all universities have made enough support structures for these matters regarding accommodation. There is no need to reinvent the wheel. All universities will have a International Student Department and a Accommodation Service which assists in accommodation issues, both on and off campus. Also, this is the Studying in Australia thread, not "Promoting Australia as a education destination" thread. It is not the intent of members in this thread to tell you where to pursue your study. Nor are we promoters. Make your decision, then start asking. Ask vague questions, and you'll get vague answers. |

QUOTE(Josep86 @ Sep 14 2010, 10:42 PM) Hello guys, It's only a waste of money if you come here and only ever stick with Malaysian friends and not locals or continue eating instant noodles and not cook out of local produce and not bask yourself in their culture and activities - oh and speak english. I have a lot of friends who came here only to complete their studies after three years not knowing any locals or at least long lasting ones. Saying locals do not want to mix with us is a lame excuse too. why some people said studying in aus is just wasting of money? is it true? it makes me change my mind to further my study in aus... I think people only said its a waste of money after they have failed spectacularly to impress/improve in life after many years studying here. Education wise - I reckon all (well known) universities have their pros and cons. |
