go check out the structures of their programmes and which one you feel you are more comfartable with as the Foundation programmes offered in Taylor's and Trinity are for different Universities and have different structures.

Hello, I just received my COE, so I was thinking whether I should apply visa through the agent or self-apply. Please advice.

Another thing is, what's the difference between a e-visa and a visa applied through DIAC?

Let's say I renewed my passport in early 2009 and it will expire early 2014. However my course ends 31st December 2014. So do I renew my passport before I leave next year or I wait for another 2 years?

All visas are e-visas (electronically issued). There is no difference.

If you renew your passport later, you'll need to inform DIAC about your new passport so they can update their systems. You'll have to travel with both passports though as the visa is attached to the old passport.

I'm not the authority on this and it's based on my experience. You should check against the information at immi.gov.au if you need a more authoritative response.

you can renew your passport on later date as long as before 6 months of the expired date(passport rules)
after you renew, you need to go immigration in australia or australia embassy in malaysia to verify your visa to your new passport...

to avoid the complications of having a visa in an expired passport.....sometimes it is better to just loose some money, and just renew your passport just before getting your e-visa......the passport office will return your unexpired validity of your old passport to a maximum of 6 months....for thechon, that means you will loose 2 1/2 years of your old passport, but save you some headache later on.....

why would you want to go do a-levels in oz??

does not make sense......if you intend to enter oz unis, go do foundation or year 11 or 12..........

if you intend to go to uk, do the a levels in uk, or in msia itself........

lol why do you want to go and do A-Levels in Aussie? Sounds weird and seems to be a waste of money well at least in my opinion don't know about you.
What and where do you plan to study and do your degree in later? Won't it be better to do a Foundation maybe or year 12 etc.

I don't think Taylors provide A-Levels.

As I can see from their website they offer year 10 to 12,Monash University Foundation Year (MUFY),Taylors Auckland Foundation Year (TAFY),The University of Sydney Foundation Program (USFP),The University of Western Australia Foundation Program (UWAFP),UniLink Diploma programs and some English courses.
http://www.taylorscollege.edu.au/courses.aspx

While their Melbourne campus only offers year 10,11,12 and Monash University Foundation Year

if im taking year 12 or foundation i would most probably go to trinity or taylors which will later let me study in melb university or monash uni. But im afraid just in case i dont meet their requirements, i have no other path. ( correct me if im wrong). Therefore i prefer to take a levels as it is safer. but as far as i know taylors and trinity dont offer a levels right?

Which one? Year 12 and foundation are 2 separate things. Don't mix them up now.

If you can't make the cut in Australia with Year 12 to the course of your choice, what makes you think that A-levels will be any different? These 2 qualifications are not that dissimilar.

Secondly, I think we have to distinguish between Taylors College Malaysia and Taylors College Australia. They are not the same thing. Other than some intersection in the qualifications they offer (primarily on the Malaysian one) they are only same in name. So no, no place in Australia offers A-levels officially. (That said, there is nothing stopping you taking it as a private candidate in Australia, but as a Malaysian why would you want to do that?)

The thing is Malaysians have been brainwashed to thinking that multiple university entrance qualifications are normal. They are not. It is a disturbing abomination that is contrary to most good practices around the world. In Australia you have to do the appropriate Year 12 in the different states/territories for university entrance. No rubbish of a TER 99 score is the somehow the same as AAA in A-levels which is supposedly the linear equivalent of a CGPA of 3.92 in STPM.

Finally Australian Year 12 is accepted as an entrance qualification in most UK universities, so no, there is another path.

A Bernama report quotes MSD acting director Zahari Long urging Malaysians in Australia to register with the MSD and the Ministry of Higher Education.

This matter has been well discussed in the Studying in Australia threads, and more importantly Immigration has very clear information on this matter on their website.

Better start being more observant.

engrish. hard 2 rd.

Seriously, if you or your friend is on weed, DO NOT risk entering. Marijuana is illegal in Australia and if you're caught you're toast. Never muck around with the immigration authorities.

And at the risk of sounding like your mum or dad, please do not use illegal drugs. If you've seen how those shit does to your brain, you'll never even want to get close to it. Youthful ignorance is not bliss; it's stupidity.
