Can I put a splitter at the wall panel so that I can connect two decoder (i.e. one new & one old)? very leceh when want to switch between new & old smart card lah !

2 weeks oredi and still waiting
i got 2 decoder but 1 account (just swap smart card)
just wondering can the new smart card be used in the old decoder?
otherwise one of the decoder cannot be used

I don't really know whos fault is this,but the Astro installer came to my house just bringing thedecoder set only,no satellite dish.When I ask him why didn't he bring the dish,he said the order only tell to come and install the decoder only,no dish.Is this Astros fault or the installer's fault?

For those that upgrade 2 decoders simultaneously,did the installer came with both decoder set and separate order forms or only 1 order forms?Cause i'm upgrading 2 decoders to B.yond.Help guys?

Whats with the list?

I dont think u can swap the card to any decoder anymore... u need to bring ur decoder together... hehe

my installer just came this afternoon n he swapped for a new dish..

my installer also gave me the T&C copy which stated in the Terms:
2. Under the campaign, Astro sahll provide you one (1) unit of Astro B.yond Box and its accessories which includes the Out-Door unit (ODU) (if applicable subject to items 7 below), smartcard, remote control unit and HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) cable ( Accessories) subject to.............

7.The ODU may be provided to you (if necessary) in order for you to receive Astro Service. In the event Astro installs a new ODU, your existing ODU will be collected by the Authorized Astro Installer....

but i think astro still running all other using mpeg2 not mpeg4 right? do astro upgrade all channel to mpeg4?

Astro is still running MPEG2 for their SD channels.

Above can use as real-world case for the reason to include 1080i60 pull-up option on decoder. Not only US HDTVs. Many first-gen HDTVs (i.e. early 720p only plasmas and CRT) cannot handle 50Hz input. Cheaper DVI-enabled LCD monitors cannot handle that input as well even if it can handle HDCP.

Yah, agreed. Hardwired sub aka Open Captioning is irritating. I personally don't like it, especially when it's chock full of errors i.e. RTM's. Apparently either some of their translator people cannot speak English or cannot speak Malay. I noticed a lot of English shows have laughably mistranslated Malay subtitles.

Hope they bring in Discovery HD soon. I also want it.

History, Ci and Bio Asia is join venture between astro aan and a&e...

So, soft-subs is available to these 3 channels and no 2-5 minutes of delay not like other international channels like HBO, Discovery etc....
Juz like any other astro channels...

So we can hope for history HD to have subtitle... Others? Don't know yet...

Zee TV's subtitle is the worst in Astro... Malay subtitle wrong grammar all round... and the font is making my eyes sore...

Then u better wait till you get a HDTV since no point to upgrade without this gadget

Tip: If your TV have both HDMI and component connector available, connect both to your Byond decoder. Watch HD on HDMI and SD on component. SD channel more vivid and sharper on component. It does make a difference.
