yday my decoder hanged.......i think coz i changed it to standby (with time showing) but then the decoder changed it back to channel 812.......then i off the main switch ....when i on it back the decoder stuck on channel 812 but no pic come out....so HANGED..had to remove power source to get it working again......

basically the prob is when i try to switch it to standby the decoder goes to standby but within 1 or 2 sec changes back to ON mode....not sure wat causes this...maybe the remote??????

No. Monster brand won't make any difference from any other HDMI cable with Astro Byond.

Tip: If your TV have both HDMI and component connector available, connect both to your Byond decoder. Watch HD on HDMI and SD on component.  SD channel more vivid and sharper on  component. It does make a difference.  rclxms.gif

so is confirmed and tested that byond will output signals out from hdmi, component, and composite simultaneously?

Really? I though Byond only output signal to either one even if all three are connected. blink.gif

Is it true that the cable from the dish to the decoder must be HDMI ? I thought only from decoder to TV only..

because you are dealing with digital signal...

digital signals are either 0 or 1 [no or yes]

can you see the picture? [no or yes] .... no such thing as yea but a bit snowy, yea but a bit fuzzy etc

its either u see the video or its blank screen... no matter how good the cable is...if the cable cannot show any picture then thats bad...if the cable can show any video then its working...thats it... no such thing as using a rm200 hdmi cable will make ure picture sharper, more vibrant colours, less snow etc etc because the quality is already fixed by astro themselves... u get what they broadcast.

Only component and composite output might matter because its analog...but even then for me i can't see much diff with monster cables. Just get some midrange cables will do...no need to spend hundreds in such cables....(if headphone earphones then you should, depending on how u like the sound tongue.gif )

You mean to say upscaling through component only, not through HDMI? I'm bit naive lah doh.gif

Like I said earlier, there's a possibility of intermittent HDCP errors and/or picture/sound garbling, but that indicates a problem with the cable itself, or problem with decoder or TV. Point is, a working RM20 cable is no different from a working "Monster" cable when it comes to PQ/SQ in digital.

Last time I change mine, it stuck. But my decoder has different problem: it keeps resetting channel to Australia Network and volume to 50% when I switch it off. You did answer "Yes" when asked to confirm, right?

No no.... the component output is SD, 576i....only 576i.... so when u feed this signal to ure tv, ure tv will know automatically what to do, which is resize it for u.... i feel that resizing done through tv looks sharper...
