Ceiling functions. If certain channels are unavailable, decoder will change the channel to the nearest to the number.

eg. you input 100, automatically go to 101

Oh right,

yeah would be nice to have that back.

Are you set to Dolby and have connected the digital audio cable to a home theather?

First thing to do is check that A/V sync of the Home Theather is not affecting the lip sync

Check that you are getting this issue on all channels. If it is only on one channel then someone has fallen asleep at astro and it is a broadcast issue.

I'm set at about 80mss

Proud ? We all were !!! Now its HD so what ? NOTHING to watch friend, Astro is SO boring ! Nat HD I prefer Nat HD Wild the current one is boring, the same goies to History. HBO screwed up movies most of the time ! Looks like we should start a thread those bored with Astro HD to sign in ! Now I say Astro HD wasnt exciting at all and not as anticipated . Believe me very soon Astro wld start its own Rojak HD channels ! cry.gif

I set it at stereo mode connect it to my analogue speaker.
Not using any home theater but just a puny pc speaker system.

Try listening thru the TV speakers and see if you notice a delay.
I think it could be your set up that is causing this.

My Review about Astro B.yond (UPDATE)

1. I used Panasonic SDTV.
2. The TV can be programmed to the remote using option 2 (refer to installation manual).
3. Smart Card from other decoder can be inserted into the B.yond decoder (no HD channels).
4. Component cable works perfectly on SD channels and gives maximum picture quality that my TV can display (HD settings: 576p).
5. Changed satellite to #18 MEASAT-3A and gives 220-222 signal strength with 100% quality.
6. HD Channels via SDTV with component cable connection shows sharp picture that SDTV can get (no distortion).
Yet to be done:

1. Test SD channels via HDMI.
Suggestions:

1. Remove limitations on how many favourite channels should be set (like the old days).
2. Surf to favourite channels ch+ and ch- when enabled (like the old days).
3. Ceiling functions (like the old days).

The astro b.yond installer came at 10:45 am, completed changing the disc (OGU65) and setting at 11:10am....activate the card, can see the channel at 11:20am....rclxm9.gif

my original cable (concealed) very long like min 40ft only can get signal at 177, add in the booster, it became 255 instantly...rclxms.gif

now only wait for the ESPN HD.....EPL in HD drool.gif

I can't get sound through TV from HD channels (SD channels ok) when opt for DD5.1 , is it normal? Sound only through my AVR theatre system
and also not in 'discreet' 5.1 (not as DVD) i.e HBO HD, you guys have such problem? hmm.gif

Anybody tried opening their Byond box dy? I'm planning to do that later, and will slowly try to pry the warranty sticker so that it will be intact. U all know that the casing is the slide in type right? If you take off the screws, then just slide the casing to the back to open. Well, my box, on the top part, they did not slide it in properly. So it's bulging. How can that escape QC at their manufacturing plant?

Yes, this is normal. When box is set as DD 5.1. HD Channels with DD audio, the TV won't be able to decode the audio signal sent to it by the box. hence the avr will decode and output the sound.

Can you describe more on what do you mean by discrete? b.yond box sends out 6 channels dolby digital encoded audio hence it's discrete enough i think.

Thanks!
Shaik
