walao eh, how much do u need to pay for it?

First year fee should be waived.

However, may I have to keep using it to get waiver coming years..

The fee is about RM600, if not waived.

If they insist to charge, I will cancel all cards..

Remember, I am an active user and clear off every month..

I've rejected countless pre-approved upgrade to Citi-Gold. Till today I still carry the Citi-Classic that applied 12 years ago. Recently they revised my credit limit to RM30k. brows.gif

Haha.. don't worry about the gold card fee of RM195 is you are actively using your card.

Unofficially you have to have more than 24 transactions/year to waive the fee, or you have to subscribe to autopayment.

Any bank who charges me will receive my cancellation letter immediately.. wink.gif

To bank, you're only consider as normal customer. In their terms, customers that pay minimum + finance charge are GOOD customers.

Indeed, but they lose nothing to upgrade me to platinum with same credit limit of 20k.

I get my status and they get my business... right?

It is win-win situation..

If you observe your upgraded card, you should see the start and end dates are in different months, I think they will follow the lattest..

Take the chance now if you need a Platinum card. (sometimes can show off - well, at the right places)

They are so desperate to retain customers that they will give you a plat since you have 30k credit limit.

I only have 20k; not even made any request.

Hehe... I don't need another plat, been using UOB plat since last year. Sometime need to use classic card to keep low profile.

Thank you all.. wink.gif

It is quite stressed to have one, especially worry that they don't want to waive your annual fee. May be I am just too greedy and want to try out the feelings of having one.

The good sides are like KLIA airport free lounge service, travel bookings, and of course show-off.

By the way, I dun simply show off, especially in front of some envy people. Just show off when you need it.

I observe some people will treat you different when you pay using plat.

But, I never envy about who has more cc, but those who has money in the bank. Good luck to all!

QUOTE(zergg @ Dec 25 2009, 05:53 PM)
guys, sorry if this is merely a repetition that i totally miss sad.gif
i intended to buy a macbook pro using my cimb credit card.say the price is RM 6,399.00, and i pay for atleast 400-500 permonth, how much would be the interest?
sorry ya, im very very new with this thing.maybe i should read something for newbies as a starter sad.gif sad.gif
*
It is not a good move to charge RM6,399 and only pay RM500 a month as you be imposed high interest charges of not less than (depending on your tier) 13.5% (PA) or 1.125% a month on the outstanding balance.

Example of interest charges

First Month (RM6,399 - RM500) x 1.125% = RM66.36
Second Month (RM6,399 -RM1000 + RM66.36) x 1.125% = RM61.49
Third Month (RM6,399 - RM1,500 + RM61.49) x 1.125% = RM55.81
Fourth Month (RM6399 - RM2000 + RM55.81) x 1.1.25% = RM50.12
you go do the rest, I lazy........ interest will continue until you clear all outstanding amount (including new transactions).

It is not a wise move to buy your computer and having interest charges.

Better move is to charge the RM6399 and then convert it to Flexi Payment with i-Plan, click link below:

http://www.cimbbank.com.my/index.php?ch=43...k&tpt=cimb_bank

If you opt for the 10 months plan, you will be charged an interest of 3% for the first month only and subsequently no more assumming you pay the amount due in full.

Eg, RM6399/10 months = RM639.90 per month for 10 months. Interest 3% = RM191.97

First month you need to pay RM639.90 + RM191.97 = RM830.97
and subsequent months (2nd-10th month) fixed at RM639.90 per month

Having said the above, I strongly advise you to reconsider getting a cheaper computer and not get the Mac you want as you can only afford RM400 a month.

Hello.. Anyone has Citibank Platinum Card now?

Mind to share experience of your fee waiver? Because it is not cheap, about RM600.

What requirement for fee waiver? how many times have to swap?

Fee waiver on citibank plat is easy , just maintain minimum swipe like at least 2 times / month or having auto debit like insurance or some telco bills will do. No hassle for me to request for the waiver once it charged to my statement, the CS will reverse the fee for you on the spot. rclxms.gif

If i'm not mistaken, Citibank Platinum series credit card all comes with a minimum credit line of RM30k. Just like HSBC Platinum VISA and Premier Mastercard. So unless they can increase your credit line to match their Platinum credit card minimum credit line, they won't be able to issue you the Platinum card. Anyway, good luck !

yupe.. currently having the gold card with 20k credit limit, have been with them since Jan 2004. (swipe > once a week)

I guess my record is clear and my credit report should be good also. (prompt payment with car loan and house loan)

I heard some standard chartered plat has credit limit of 7k only.

Basically I don't mind having lower credit limit, as I usually pay off everything.

Applying for upgrading Citibank actually is not to increase CC number.

30k is too much for me, thus 20k is just fine.

Already qualified for some low end plat cc like scb, eon gsc, etc.

Thank you, so don't worry, as I have the next resort to seek for scb plat instead. But I don't see any reason they can reject my application.

I am just a customer that choosing which service I should take, and I think Citibank suites all my needs.

I dun mind if they upgrade me to RM30k but at the end I might end up asking them to reduce it to around RM15k.

Then, I should have something to show off soon!;)
