merry christmas, authorized charges are what you have swiped but not yet posted (you can't see in the current statement)
for petrol at kiosk (RM200 will be deducted upfront until it's posted)

Read the fine prints again my friend. The privacy clause applies for their external parties and what happens is that the info is shared internally within the bank group of companies. Applications form will sometime ask this question but it is actually to ask for your consent for marketing and promotional activities to their business partners. (something like that)

If you cancel this then your junk mail will decrease. E.g. Reader's Digest subscription offer by xxx bank. (Ever received such promo?) So receiving a credit card from the bank that you have your deposits is not wrong in Malaysia.
*
the magazine subscription offer is difference thing. if u don't care about it, u won't get the magazine and force to pay.

but if credit card that u never apply were send to wrong house, then u'll be in problem for fraud, have to waste time and even money to resolved it

Cancelled my Maybank Visa Classic last month, now suddenly I see Visa Platinum and Mastercard Platinum appearing in Maybank2U. Looks like Maybank desperate to push cards to even out those cancellations.

Same thing happening to CIMB Direct Access. Seeing another 3 pre-approved platinum cards (2 principal + 1 supp) popping out in cimbclicks.
Just canceled 2 cards and now gets another 3. doh.gif doh.gif

Should be all right as long as the card is not activated.

Hi,

I am using citibank airasia credit card. Need to check with you guys here, I converted a RM5k purchased into flexi payment loan for 12 months, and before I convert the citibank representative said there are no hidden fees. This month is the second month I paid my loan and in my statement, there are misc charges for the flexi payment-RM28.80. I asked them to waived it last month but they said cannot waived, this month they charged me again RM28.80....

Anyone here using flexi payment?

I think that's a loop hole that the Bank defers the GST for another 12 months. Card approved this month (Dec 09) will be charged RM50 next year Dec. tongue.gif.

I purchased a laptop of RM2.5k and they charged me about RM85 in total.

You are applying RM5k, thus admin fee should be Rm170.

Rm170/12 = RM14.10.

May be yours term is different..

I've rejected countless pre-approved upgrade to Citi-Gold. Till today I still carry the Citi-Classic that applied 12 years ago. Recently they revised my credit limit to RM30k. brows.gif

If your card issue on or after 1st Jan 2010, then you will be charged RM50 for service tax immediately. Whether you cancel it or not, you will have to pay for RM50. Hope your card is issue before 1st Jan 2010
