Went to KIA JnS SC (Sungai Pinang) first thing in the morning and i was so relief that it was just the battery connector (negative) loose that was causing the problem. The service at JnS was really good (as recommended by many in Penang) and the boss (Steven) greeted me and had a chat with Lee and I. I actually sms Steven last night around 10PM to ask about the office hour and surprisingly he called back and asked me not to jump start if the battery isn't working the next day (i noted this in the user manual as well, NEVER jump start a Forte). The service provided by JnS SC is among the best if not THE BEST in Penang  rclxms.gif

Very nice meeting you Brother Lee and your wife  biggrin.gif

Hopes you are not thinking that I am stalking on your Forte brows.gif brows.gif . I just remember this morning that I need to fetch my wife after she drops her car for Warranty claims + services. Was still thinking you were visiting Sg. Nibong until I woke up and went to the Honda SC... and saw the first Forte which is not in Showroom.

Was curious on the "Nissan" on your car though tongue.gif

Some technical question here, when I think about + - gear.

Say: You are at about 100km/h on auto mode, and you feel to have more torque power, then you shift it to shiftronic and reduce it to 3rd gear, will this damage your gearbox? Ok, how about 100km/h you reduce it to 2nd gear?

Scary right?
*
Forte has a very long 2nd gear which can pull all the way to more than 100km/h. Just treats it as engine braking but of cause.. not many people favorable with Engine braking.. they sayang their Engine and Gearbox a lot.

The news regarding increase of price for Forte is reliable.
I was informed by SA that effective 1st Jan 2010, all booking will refer to this new price. Increase by 3K - 5K.
No Worries for those already booked this year....all stick to old price structure. flex.gif nod.gif nod.gif

Phelix,

if you want to enjoy fully on your power... do the gear shift at its maximum torque RPM... you will enjoy the ummph for sure... i think is 4200rpm for max torque on the 1.6 Gamma.

hahaha regarding the Nissan road tax holder (dont know what it calls) ... the seller doesn't have KIA (he said Kia "leng mui boh beh la") so might as well get Nissan and later after tinting (hopefully my friend has not branded or Wingard one), will pass it to my gf, cos she is driving Latio ma biggrin.gif

I got to resist visiting this thread anymore before I got regret canceling my booking. Have been visiting this thread since pre-V1, V1 and now V2.. a daily routine to visit at least 20 to 30 times for many weeks as don't want to stuck with many update pages just over few hours.

Its my pleasures to meet up with some of the great people here and will give you guys a ping if I travel down to KL.. to molest all your Forte since I didn't get to own one tongue.gif

to all fellow 2.0 Buyer,

will you guys hold on until end of jan 2010?? i'm starting to change my mind... planning to get civic 2.0 instead of this forte 2.0....

*
Suggest u give another 4 weeks until the rumoured 28 jan docking of 2.0s. I'm pretty convince they'll arrive. Another 20-30K for sylphy/civic is too much to ask .... and that's not including the interest after 7 years loan. Different story though if the pre-2010 forte bookers are also affected by the new year price hike. But a 5K hike is still acceptable i guess.

93.8K is too good a bargain for a 2.0. rolleyes.gif

Victor, any way to avoid this?? possible to seal it up the headlamp by ourself using the silicon?

Spoken to Jalan Cheras SC yesterday. According to them, they are doing some research on the issue, hope to have a solution by Jan or Feb. Coz at the moment, they have received more than 10 formal complain of headlight condensation. So now waiting for them to come back with solution.

To be frank, in Singapore, Kia said they won't fixed the issue as this is norm, C&C has a memo from Kia. Hope they won't say the same to Malaysia.

Well.. if you wanna seal it yourself.. not too sure whether this will void any warranty..

Sealing unproperly will cause heat lamp overheated.. be extra cautious trying to DIY.

1) just found out that aircond will be switched on if you turn the temperature knob (left or right direction) without pressing aircond power switch.
so.. is it cool or unpleasant for u?

2) read at SG forum and koup sport rim weigh only 7 ~ 8 kg and for our forte the rim weigh 11kg. really big in difference. might change the rim in 2 years time.. rclxms.gif

3) jpj related, let say in 5 years, i want to install the thetaII engine (2.0), can be done or not? what is the maximum upgrade from 1.6?
