is the installer call from private/unknown number, just got a missed call

Yep, they use private number usually so that u cannot complain to them and have to call customer service.

Last time the d**n installer install my dish on my roof wooden panel instead of wall. Cila**k tul.

I'm not sure whether it is 24 hours or not but probably yes. And they usually don't know which installer is assigned.

Usually the installer install first and then report back to activate account and close your case.

I've experienced 3 different installer calling me last time for installation so you can guess.

U registered last friday? Have u call the CS yet? Or does the marketing call you back?

If not then call the CS and ask to open a case maybe then they take notice.

Klang valley has a lot of people subscribe which is y it is taking more time to install.

Registered online on Tuesday and got the call from them yesterday. Today, the installer called me and already installed my unit! Apparently, among the first units to be installed in Klang after the units were assign and released to the astro contractors to be installed! rclxms.gif

Happy to jump to the HD tv bandwagon. I'm a big football fan and seriously never thought games will look so gooooood in hd. Looking forward to watch the 2010 WC in full hd glory!

so, how many dishes do you have now - because as far as I understand it, they only give you one dish and expect you to view your normal subscription SD channels as well as the HD channels

I understand it can take 10 days , but again isn't it strange when someone who registered later then you and get it first. I am not sure how their system works anyway. I am willing to wait , I just find it strange.

it's all abt ur location, the demand and supply of the setop box is different depending on ur place, some place hv less demand, so lesser waiting time, some place have higher demand, so longer waiting time.

Guys,

Why are you all acting so pleased when you don't have to get a new dish or wiring? You really have lost!

Firstly, indirectly you have actually paid for the new dish but most importantly the new dish and LNB give about a 6db stronger signal that the old dish! I have checked this for myself!

The new dish is an entirely new model, it looks different and performs a whole lot better.

If you have an old dish there will be occasions when you will loose signal due to rain... I had my dish changed so I will continue to watch while you have nothing!!!! Going back to my university maths, 6db extra signal strength is about 170% stronger!

Do not keep your old dish!

Also, the more joins or splits in the wire the worse the signal, if the installer connects to your internal cable you will loose signal strength... that is certain!

If you do not get your dish upgraded and you insist on using your existing cable then never ever complain about rain fade... you could have had it (almost) fixed! doh.gif

I can't see anybody who refuse to use the new dish. The talk was about the cable, not the dish.

In my situation, I want the dish to be upgraded, but they have to re-cable the whole building if the cable has to change too. This is very hard considering they're buried in the concrete walls and we have 23 floors.

There won't be more splits and joints if they don't change the cable, only one at the dish end, which has to be terminated properly anyway even if you use new cable.

PS: Since I moved to my new condo six months ago, I remember having problems with raining about 2 (two) times only. I don't know how or why, my Astro signal always strong even there's thunderstorm outside. thumbup.gif
