Just got home and checked. What about #18 Measat 3A (VH)? I think I mistaken earlier. I'm now using #18, And it's working, although signal strength only slightly higher now (225, #1 can get 205-208). Earlier it went up to 235 or so.

Edit: Just noticed: Using #18 entry point, on-screen guide not working. #1 entry point got guide.

I call to subscribe yesterday afternoon. But now already more than 24hour. No one call. Is this normal? They say within 24 hour someone will call.

me..after 48 hour.if 4 hour did not received call,better u call Astro back.

For my case...

29th - call CS to subcribe HD
29th 3pm - received a call for T&C
30th 4pm - Receive a call from the contractor schedule installation 10.30am tomorrow (31st Dec) morning.
30th 8pm - received SMS confirm contractor name and contact.
31st - Installation start 10.00am finished at 10.30am. Then 11:25am activated the service to enjoy HD content.

yeah i called the installer, at first he cut me out due to dunno wat reason...so i smsed him...then in about 10 mins he called back...woo he said most likely this sunday coming to install byond due to tmr n sat they are on hols ... he seems like a nice dude la... and is it just me or the astro cs purposely assign same sir name installer as mine? LOL

Yo, regarding your question (way back many tens of pages ago, based on the photo I posted) on whether my upstairs neighbour's dish is the 1st generation Philips dish, I saw the same dish at a house earlier today, full frontal view and I can recognise the strange looking LNB, and the dish has the word Philips on it, so I have reasons to believe that my neighbour's dish is the 1st gen dish... Man, you are very observant!

I think you have the right to call back your installer and demand the 65cm dish.

My signal is just only 201 during daytime, it fluctuates on 198, 201 and 206. But at night it's 206 fluctuating between 201, 206 and 209. I also note that the toot toot sound (for strong signal) will only come on at 206 onwards. I am using the first line (Measat 3) as the entry point, will go and try a Measat 3A entry point later.

Note that my cable length (cable not changed) should be quite long, I suspect about 18 metres.

Also, I have a friend (in Penang also) who had his cable changed and yet his signal is just 168 only even though the dish is the 65cm dish.

So long as the signal quality and bit error rate (BER) is perfect, you should be able to watch your shows without interference.

Rightly so. I will send them an email regarding this issue. Shows the installer themselves are incompetent.
