I when to Maybank to potong my Petronas CC last Thurday but it's still showing in my Maybank2U. Does that mean that the card is still not cancelled yet?
*
For Maybank card, after you cancel, it still appear in M2U even after years of cancellation. You have to call them to remove it.

I've been using free-for-life CC for long, interested in getting SCB CC, is it easy to ask for annual fee waiver?

The fastest way to remove from m2u is go to nearest branch to ask the officer to remove it for you, as call in usually takes time before you notice it being unlink from ur account.

QUOTE(vgodmax @ Dec 17 2009, 05:33 PM)
What's the diff for Visa Infinite and Platinum?
The main difference is in status only.

QUOTE(Darkmage12 @ Dec 17 2009, 06:46 PM)
I thought Infinite is the Visa Equivalent of Mastercard's Platinum?
Definitely not. Platinum Mastercard is the equivalent of Platinum Mastercard.

QUOTE(elru @ Dec 17 2009, 06:54 PM)
visa infinite is one level higher than platinum
VISA Infinite is actually two levels higher than VISA Platinum. After VISA Platinum it is VISA Signature, a card that is not offered here in Malaysia.

QUOTE(alexwsk @ Dec 17 2009, 08:37 PM)
infinite is same level with mastercard world
Actually, VISA Infinite is on the same rank as World Elite Mastercard. World Elite Mastercard has not arrived at our shore yet.

QUOTE(alexwsk @ Dec 17 2009, 11:23 PM)
since you can get the card on the spot, it's not possible to manufacture the card right at the bank tongue.gif
What if you request for an embossed card ?

Maybank not absorbing RM50 credit card service tax

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

*
I will be cutting all my maybank credit cards and even my Amex since its Maybank related as well, as not doing so will also contravene my sense of intelligence since I am already paying a whole lot of tax to the existing govt as of now. And this goes for all govt linked banks as well. Can't wait to see how many of their existing 1.6M members will be stupid enough to pay, notwithstanding their crappy services laugh.gif

And will probably get myself a debit card, most definitely not from Maybank, so in the end I will be left with my SCB & HSBC and maybe next year will get an Amex from overseas just for emergency tongue.gif

I have been informed by my CRM in SCB & HSBC that they will pay the RM50 on my behalf. This is a on a case to case basis and as such its a no brainer why I choose to use their cards. Basically its a win win situation since I give them profits by using their cards, its the least they can do to absorb the @##$ tax

hey i like your thinking! yea the way they deliver the message is really really arrogant. how could there is no 'much' decline after so many ppl has already cut their 'extra' mbb cards. that is why i closed my saving account with them and had terminated my only mbb cc too.

QUOTE
Asked if the bank was seeing any reduction in the number of credit-card holders, Lim Hong Tat, Maybank's head of consumer banking said, "Not much reduction has been seen." He added that it was "still within control" and that the impact would become clearer in the next few months.

don't forget that majority of their customers are government / GLC employees. Therefore, not much effect.

Unlike the old days, they don't depend on us now.

Not just that ... not everybody read this forum. The general public would be happy with the piece of plastic that they own therefore not likely to hop around credit card like the folks here. I can't blame MBB's CEO for saying what he did, I mean even EON Bank published something similar. If you are the employee of that bank, you can't be giving out bad impression of your bank right ?

when i enquire at my Maybank here, the officer said first 2 CC will be free from RM50. Third card onwards, you'll have to start paying RM50 each. This will be monitored by Bank Negara.

Don't know which news is true now. I only have 2 cards Amex and Visa Petronas now

I went to enquire about CIMB bank branch here to enquire about the CC Govt Service charge, they say still no update from the board yet. The banker recommend if I don't use the card actively or if the card is not activated yet, its better to cancel the card asap by end of this year.

If it is not published in B&W, you have absolutely all rights not to believe anything that is mentioned by anyone representing the bank. For me, I'll trim all cards to just what I definately need. I won't bother with cards that "I think I need" ... it is more cards that "I definately need".

I'm sure for JustOne holders in this thread, they will hang on this card. smile.gif
