im kinda confused here dunno which card im going to get but the promoter told me there is RM100 credited once the card comes.
*
You don't even know which card you apply for by simply signing the form(s)? smile.gif Won't be surprised that the agent will apply more than 1 cc for you.

If the amount to be credited is RM100, then the cc should be a Plat.

QUOTE(Darkmage12 @ Sep 22 2009, 12:25 AM)
Oh so this card got nice rebate so they temporarily suspend the application? Normal Platinum don't have rebate right? JustOne also have the RM100 credit?
*
No point to discuss the early bird credit note for Just1 over and over again as new application is already suspended. biggrin.gif

Apart from SCB Just1, another SCB cc which offers cash back is SCB Business Plat. However, the rebate rate is not great.

The rebate offered on the SCB Business Plat is only 0.5% for all retail purchase without any maximum limit.

She never mention what card. Then she just told me got RM100 credited. Well earlier the citibank promoter in giant was suppose to get me a citibank-giant card but then when the card came it wasn't a citibank-giant card instead it was a gold card doh.gif

You shouldn't sign the form blindly. For ALL my CCs I applied, I always filled in the form myself. You should tick the cc you wanna apply for by yourself. Hopefully it is not a personal loan form. biggrin.gif

I don't bother. It requires you to carry forward balance in order to get the rebate.

The best cash back CCs at this moment are SCB Just1, Alliance Plat and Alliance Younique.

I think so. Some banks are very cunning and cc promoters normally won't tell you the details if you don't ask them. But it is on a "willing-buyer-willing seller" basis. The T&Cs are clearly stated in the booklet and website. You can't really blame the banks for customers' ignorance.

Oh I did not know about this. I only know that for the Shell rebate you need carry forward balance.

AFAIK, it's not a cash rebate, but a rebate in terms of Giant cash vouchers. It accumulates until a certain amount then they send the cash voucher to you.

OK, according to Citibank website, 2% cash rebate for purchases in Giant, no balance is required. smile.gif However, for other purchases, you need to have balance to be carried forward for a mere 0.5% (<2k balance) or 1% (>2k balance) rebate. The rebate you get is not even enough to cover interest charged on your cc. smile.gif

A forummer has mentioned, the rebate is in form of Giant voucher.

But then, why are you interested in this card since Amex gold cc would give you 5x points (equivalent to 2.5% rebate) for purchases in all hypermarket?

@winner : I don't think all Citibank cards require carried forward balance to get rebates. It's just u get higher rebates with c/f balance, which is of course not worthwhile.
They also have specific cash back cards, which are fairly decent, although there are better cards out there.

As far as I know, there are currently 4 CCs from Citibank offering cash back, namely Citibank Cash Back cc, Citibank Cash Back Gold cc, Shell-Citibank cc and Giant-Citibank cc. All of them require carry forward balance for the cash back. Do enlighten me if I have missed out any CCs from Citibank Malaysia which need not to have balance carried forward for cash back. biggrin.gif

@winner

Their cash rebate cards have the tiered system. Their lower tier states c/f balance of RMxx or less. I'm assuming zero balance falls into the less category as well.

Take the gold cash back credit card as an example.

The 1st table shows tier 1 as being RM5k or less.
The 2nd table shows RM0 as qualifying for 0.5% rebates.

Do correct me if I'm wrong

Now I get what you meant. smile.gif You were talking about Tier 1 of the cash back while I was actually referring to the general cash back policy of Citibank. biggrin.gif

Nevertheless, Citibank should seriously review its cash back policy. The requirement of "carried forward balance" would simply drive consumers away! tongue.gif
