hey all i hav a question, i currently am using a 29 inch standard TV.. and was just wondering considering a 40 inch lcd is well... wide screen.. in general is it much "smaller" than my 29 inch tv? for example, my 20.1 inch lcd is about the same height as my 17 inch monitor..

I am actually asking because, size is a matter in terms of enjoyment and available shelf space.

Thanks..

i actually tried using pythogras to count it but not sure if it is accurate

In term of tv/monitor screen size, you should measure it diagonally. Then you'll get the idea. biggrin.gif

Astro may be can impliment that in the near future like in 5 years time. But RTM may take 10 or even longer. I still remember 12 years ago when every other tv stations in Malaysia are using Digital Beta and RTM are still using the ancient 1 inch tape.

well that's not slightly true... coz I have cousin work at astro, and he said that RTM has the latest hardware than what astro has...but because old the management of RTM full of oldies, they avoid using them instead using the old one... so rugilah....

Me : " Sir, i think we should upgrade our software etc etc to future proof the system "

Boss : " it works now, so don't touch it " ( we will wait until everything breaks down then start thinking about replacements"

Someone would prolly say, "Nonsense, Sony has great value. Great bragging values." LOL. Anyway, happy new year.

P/S: I would expect someone to barge in about now.

Model number? Link and pics would be super.

Having too much fun to "barge in" into anything, much less argue over the internets. Where's that JPEG about arguing over the nets when you need one? whistling.gif

Actually just want to ask, I'm a xbox 360 and PS3 owner and it is because of these machines that I am looking into a HDTV..

Just want to ask though how important is 1080p if i am only getting something in the 40 - 42 inch range?

and I usually play games at a distance of 6ft+ from the TV? I've heard that ppl say if you screen size isn't too big you have to be really close to see the difference etween 720p and 1080p, is that true?

thanks for any advice..

Beware of it (not so) doh.gif FULLHD features. Found this info from hardwarezone.com

While Toshiba's 47-incher does indeed carry a 1920 x 1080 resolution, it cannot fully accept 1080p signals like most LCD TVs in the market. It can, nevertheless, improve the visual quality of 1080i video content by de-interlacing it to make it appear quite similar to 1080p.
