Can anyone list down the HDTV (above 40inch) that support 1080p that sold in Malaysia besides the Sony Bravia X? I'm considering to buy when I got my PS3 in hand.

QUOTE(elhh82 @ Nov 29 2006, 08:30 PM) Guys mind helpng me decide? I've narrowed down my CRT HDTV purchase to one of two models. Please clarify this,1. Sony DZ29M61 (RM1599) - http://www.sony.com.my/sonystyle/product/p...odel=KV-DZ29M61 2. Philips 29PT8845 (RM1400)- http://www.consumer.philips.com/consumer/c...RESHQVHKFSEKI5P which one would you guys recommend? If a TV that stated that it supported 480p or 720p or 1080i bla bla.....actually means the TV CAN input that signal, but not output/display it. And to clear things out, right now only very....yes i mean VERY few TV that can display a TRUE HD (aka 1080p) e.g Sony Bravia X Series. Try ask our friend StringFellow about a TRUE HD experience. |

QUOTE(nextgene @ Dec 4 2006, 03:42 PM) Most latest LCD and Plasma in the market support 720p. But u must specified the size that u need. Sony LCD, Samsung LCD, Pioneer PDP all really good TVs and whats really important right now is the HDMI input for future proof. |

In term of tv/monitor screen size, you should measure it diagonally. Then you'll get the idea.

QUOTE(welwitchia @ Jan 2 2007, 01:18 AM) Actually the Toshiba is 47" and IIRC its about 14K++ Beware of it (not so) Saw it at 1U and it looks fantastic. Full HD too. QUOTE While Toshiba's 47-incher does indeed carry a 1920 x 1080 resolution, it cannot fully accept 1080p signals like most LCD TVs in the market. It can, nevertheless, improve the visual quality of 1080i video content by de-interlacing it to make it appear quite similar to 1080p. Any news about the new Samsung F7 series? The prices? And how does it compare with other brands (eg: Bravia X, Aquos)?

I just saw a brochure about the latest Sharp Aquos 1080p LCD @ SenQ. The model for the 46" is LC-46P7M. Then I ask for the price then they quoted RM19599 after discounted from retail RM22999
BTW, LG also released their 1080p LCD (47LB1R) recently, and Harvey Norman quoted RM14999 IINM. This mean more and more 1080p display flooding our shore. p/s- I still cannot decide which 1080p display shud I buy |

Actually I prefer the Sony V series. Yeah i know the price somewhat like RM4600 but actually u can try to bargain @ HSL or Seng Heng or other small electrical retail shop. From what i experienced, this kind of shop can give u discount up to 15%-20% which means 4600-20%(920)=RM3680.
