US GSP has now been updated. Major improvement is the ability to store offline map.
Still, I prefer preloaded map for MY version. the hassle of downloading map everytime you go to that place damping the fluidity of a GPS app. not to mention data charges. Afterall, MY map should be very much packed in POI courtesy of MSM. just imagine how long will it takes to download This post has been edited by mmmbop: Jan 12 2011, 02:02 PM |

i tried the streetpilot, but somehow it doesn't load Malaysia map.
since it will be stream from Garmin server, does it mean Garmin didn't put Malaysia map on their server? This post has been edited by movanns: Jan 12 2011, 11:33 PM |

Not to diss your preference of choice, but if you know what is MSM, MFM & mapper's community, you'll value PPG more than othersThis post has been edited by mmmbop: Jan 14 2011, 08:32 AM |

QUOTE(yaya204 @ Jan 14 2011, 04:00 PM) To papago m7 user, i think Papago! is the only choice for iPhone GPS navigation software in Malaysia. Because the only GPS with most updated Malaysia map on iPhone so far. tomtom, sygic offer better UI and more features, but the map not update. I think most GPS user focus more on map detail rather than the GUI interface.May I know is papago m7 reliable and accurate? QUOTE(poex @ Jan 14 2011, 05:59 PM) i'm one of papago m7 user.. I am a papago M7 user also, but I don't understand the point no. 4 you mentioned "allowed multi task". My papago cannot multi task. When i launch papago that is the only app running on screen. When calls come in, it will exit papago screen and then turn the screen to phone mode, or when I wanna play music, i need to go into ipod to play music, thus exiting papago screen. So how is papago multi task? Tom Tom on the other hand allows real multi tasking, you can answer calls and listen to phone without exiting the GPS screen. The software is very comprehensive written to include those features in the interface. But then again, I still use papago simply because it has the better map database.pros: 1)satellite response quite fast (within 10sec) 2)map quite accurate 3)real image junction view 4)allowed multi task but still got some cons: 1)lag sometimes 2)drain your battery very fast Overall i'm quite impressed with papago m7... i heard garmin currently releasing the garmin iphone app for us n canada..looking at their map wallao..really cannot tahan..very nice..hopefully garmin release for malaysia map as well later.. One problem I have is when I connect my Iphone to my car auxiliary in port, the voice of papago is too soft. Any way to increase the volume of papago voice? I don't have this problem with tom tom or playing Ipod from my car audio system. |

I'm Papago and Tom tom user. No current p7 version cannot multitask. Bad if u must answer a call during navigation. Tom-tom really excell in that area. But tom tom maps not as current as p7. I wish Tom Tom features plus p7 map. That would be perfect!

Hi
I am still using Nokia and one of the main thing holding me back from iphone is the GPS feature. What I like about Nokia GPS are: 1. The Nokia's OVI Maps GSP software is very well integrated into the OS. 2. I can geotag photos taken with the Nokia phone camera. When viewing the photo, can launch OVI from the photo to show me where that photo was taken and voice navigation to get me there. 3. Maps of country all over the world can be downloaded free into phone in Malaysia before going overseas to save on overseas data charge. 4. Oh.....it's in English and not Mandarin like Papago(?) If iphone can do that, I am seriously thinking of getting one. Please advise. Thanks |

The maps in iphone are downloaded when needed. Hence 3G connection is a must if u need the navigation fast. However, u can't preload map into the app unlike garmin mxt or ovi map.
