It's free of charge for updating since you have already bought it. I update via appstore on iphone, not sure about via itunes.

The last version 7.1.5 was about 595 MB, better find a wifi to download.

Aiyoh! when I download again papago from itunes, he want to get my account details! actually, I purchased it already!

maybe better to stick first in build 7.1.5

or else, my wallet will crash... head on collision!

Using tom tom v1.5 and papago M7.1.5. I can say papago has the better map, during navigation, papago map viewing is more pleasant. Also when searching for POI, it is easier with papago, whatever i type in, it can find, in fact, the POI list is more comprehensive such as nice places to eat etc.... even when travelling on highway.. it warns me of where the speed camera is.... only gripe is when i use it with all kit fm modulator, papago software will not transmit the voice over to my car speakers.

Tom Tom has better interface for sure. In fact, it even has the itunes control built into the navigation screen. Very nice touch. You can control your ipod to play songs, skip songs (that's it, you cannot actually browse your mp3 list, but it is good enough) while navigating. When you reach a junction, it will auto tune down the mp3 volume so that the voice navigation can be heard clearly. Very Very nice touch. But problem is the map is not as comprehensive as papago. When I try to key in search for places, i always have trouble finding places.... POI list is so much more less compared to papago. Best thing is, tom tom voice navigation system works through my fm modulator. Overall, the software of tom tom is much better written than papago.

My question is, is there anyway I can SSH into my phone and copy the MFM map into Tom Tom so that it can have the latest updated map in the better GPS user interface? If anyone has done that appreciate some pointers from you all.

I don't think can, since tomtom and papago use different map. Atlas and MFM, correct me if I'm wrong. Of course, I do like tomtom interface, can go in contact and look up your contact address and show their home location on map, a lot of features compared to papago, no lag and smooth interface. tomtom this worldwide international company, the apps also look better ><, it just like they paying much effort to create the apps. But when we navigate, we more focus on map detail, that why at last I still choose papago, no choice, since mfm provide best map coverage in Malaysia.. But I like the map drawing inside papago, better look, lol.

@Markyabello, if you purchased the apps using an apple ID, even it ask for payment detail and account info, just enter it for security reason. It won't charge you on same application under same apple ID for second time, appstore will tell you that you previously purchased the apps, click ok to download, that all. Can update via iTunes and iPhone, both are the same.

anyone here know how to search for places, for example you want to go Puchong Utama, but you have no idea which road name. I tried on Papago and TomTom, both requires me road name and city... lets say I do not know which city or state.. I prefer Google Map first, then only use GPS on iPhone... any sifu here can shade light on my doubt? tq

Look up addresses and services and get voice-prompted, turn-by-turn directions that speak street names to your destination. It uses detailed City Navigator® NT street maps, featuring millions of POIs, 2-D or 3-D map views and speed limits for most major roads in the U.S.

•ALWAYS THE LATEST MAPS. Garmin StreetPilot® uses the same premium quality City Navigator® NT map data available for Garmin’s nüvi® product line. Map data loads directly from the Garmin servers, so your maps are always up-to-date. Due to its small file size, StreetPilot loads quickly – ready to go when you are!

•KNOW THE LANE BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE. No more guessing which lane you need to be in to make an upcoming turn. Lane assist with junction view guides you to the correct lane for an approaching turn or exit, making unfamiliar intersections and exits easy to navigate. It realistically displays road signs and junctions on your route along with arrows that indicate the proper lane for navigation.

•REAL-TIME TRAFFIC UPDATES. Steer clear of traffic with integrated traffic updates. Receive alerts about traffic delays and road construction on your route so you can avoid them.

Garmin StreetPilot® has been designed to run on iPhone 3, iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 and works in compatibility mode on the Apple iPad as well. Higher resolution maps are available on iPhone 4 to make best use of the Retina display.

Please note that continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
