QUOTE(mmmbop @ Jan 5 2011, 01:38 PM) That would be more than $39 then. They have MSM as their map provider in Malaysia. should be having little cost to develop like PPG with Mfm garmin for symbian in malaysia is supported by mfm all the while right? mfm's map are more updated and better for east malaysia from wat i heard |

But MSM is the official (read: contract) map provider for Garmin in Malaysia (& if I'm not mistaken Singapore as well). While MFM provide free map, MSM map needs to be unlock. |

QUOTE(NewbieHero @ Jan 8 2011, 08:43 PM) Haha, sorry I tot it's not available in AppStore.Does Papago need data plan to work? And does it respond fast and accurate? Thanks. Added on January 8, 2011, 9:05 pmAnd would love to ask that, I saw the details about papago in AppStore, it says don't operate iPhone while driving, does that mean we won't be able to answer the phone while Papago is on? Or it is just a safety warning? This post has been edited by yaya204: Jan 8 2011, 09:07 PM |

I can't find the option to search using Google Maps in Tom Tom. Seems like this feature is non existent for Malaysian version although a screenshot in app store misleadingly shows it. Makes it pretty hard to pinpoint a destination
There's also no Advance Lane Guidance feature for Malaysian version. This post has been edited by Haneda: Jan 9 2011, 09:38 PM |

Not exactly iphone specific but my friend and i decided that we did a trial run of gps vs none gps.....we decided to go to a place in kelantan, cant remember the name right now, he used garmin while i use the good ol signboards.....he sesat and was late by about 2 hours......lol......
I do use gps once in a while but dont entirely depend on it.....namely because most of the time when people use gps, they tend not to focus on things such as landmarks etc and usually dont remember the route without gps..... But back to the topic, garmin decided to port they gps navigating system to iphone 4 is a godsent, just waitin for it to be in MY app stoee |

Agh! I see. Not sure whether should I giv it a try or straight away to getva gps device. Does Papago function like a normal gps? Eg: provide a similar route to reach the destination when I miss a junction or exit. |

QUOTE(yaya204 @ Jan 10 2011, 02:35 AM) Agh! I see. good question. tats the moment when it starts lagging and stuffs. once u try it u will know. its something like papago wants u to take a turn at the next junction but it lagged. as a result it keeps recalculating. Not sure whether should I giv it a try or straight away to getva gps device. Does Papago function like a normal gps? Eg: provide a similar route to reach the destination when I miss a junction or exit. |
