Wah v4 already! Most active thread in this section smile.gif

Wanna check, if in my order got in stock items and pre-order items and I select "Group my items into as few shipments as possible." - how will they ship? Will the in stock items ship separately from pre-order items? Or they wait until all pre-order items become available then ship one shot?

from my experience, they'll ship separately
but not immediately for the released titles eventhough the status is 'in stock'
In the invoice they'll be grouped together with the same delivery date
but the 'in stock' items are normally shipped 1-2 days before the release date of the pre-order titles

Anyone watch the concert " The Police Certifiable"? Try to find this. Amazon don't allow to ship to Malaysia. Sucks!

Anyone have this title in BluRay?

I saw it listed in Amazon UK The Police Certifiable. Not sure though if the quality is the same as Amazon US version.

For those who already bought Monsters Inc, another offer to get pretty good price on Up.

AmazonUp Offer

Buy Up and another disney BD and get the same USD10 off. I believe it also stacks with Monsters Inc.

So in essence 3 BDs from Disney at ~ USD16 each.

That's pretty weird since the order status still in state of "not yet shipped"

To get the additional USD10 u need to add another movie from my link. So all in all 3 movies, with disneybd code, u shd get total of USD20 off.

mmm, in that case, better hurry & cancel it & then re-order again b4 it ships. but i'd reckon the deal is only worth it if there's really another title in that limited list which you'd like to have. even without the disneybd promo, the present up & monster inc combo is a pretty sweet deal already, considering that both are disney titles as well as new releases to boot. not forgetting, it can / might only go cheaper b4 shipping smile.gif

it only works for 3 separate titles. won't work on eg 2 qty of up & 1 qty monster inc combo.

Cool. Yeah u don't need to enter again, since u entered the last time and it failed. Now with the titles its automatic.

The competition from Walmart and Best Buy is driving Amazon prices down. Walmart and Best Buy (especially with the Gremlins/TF2 and GreenMile Exclusive) are giving Amazon a run of their money. This coming close to the holiday season will see prices of new releases coming down.

hmmmm.... USD20 off on Up + Monsters, Inc + another Disney title from the list... is this meant to be or is there a loop-hole in the system or somebody found a way around this offer? When I put all 3 in the cart; while checking out I type the code word, there's an error disallowed me to use it like this but when I click continue - voila! ...the USD10+10=USD20 applies!! p.s. in our case, since we'd have to include S&H, ave $6.98 / copy

Nowadays the speed is very fast for Standard Shipping
the main culprit that keeps us receiving late is still Pos Boleh

I received a package yesterday
Shipped 20/10
Custom cleared 26/10
Reached me 4/11 doh.gif

Maybe you can check with your Post Office... it must've been there. I made friends with 2 postmen who deliver around my area. I told them if no one's at home, don't just leave the parcel on the gate unattended. tongue.gif One of them personally came to my house to deliver this one - my latest parcel biggrin.gif

i'd reckon the response was so overwhelming, they had to do something about it. i guess the promo folks didn't forsee the potential for exploitation when they launched it. i caught the promo very early (around 6 pm, our timezone) where it was possible to place 10 copies of say, van helsing for $124.90 ($12.49 /each) (cos i tried it out) & get the $100 promo discount for only $2.49 each, excl S&H. subsequently, they limited it to max 3 copies each. now, the price increase seemed inevitable. most of the titles were available & in stock as well too except for riddick & 1 of the F&F titles. now they are out of stock for nearly all of em.

BDs from Amazon US have english, spanish, french audio only. They have Mandarin subtitles tho.

Here's one of the good sites to check info on BDs

Actually not just now. Back in 2007, I saw Spider-Man 3 in the shop at The Curve almost 2 weeks before the US release.

It is classic, but at the end, I decided no need to buy cause i think this blu-ray version is cut version. The original is 105 mins and this one only 90 mins dry.gif .

Some Einstein in Lionsgate GOOFED!!

Crank 2

Got a copy of Crank 2 High Voltage from a reputable forumer yesterday.

Have been looking forward to this for sometime now!

Popped the BD into the DMP-BD60 and got image 4" x 4" appearing on my 42" Plasma TV.....

Was going to yell at someone (PANASONIC MAINLY) and then decided to do a search on Google instead.

Apparently, this BD requires your BD player to have internal memory. So playing on machines like PS3, you would not have any issues, but playing it on Panasonic DMP-BD60, you have issue, because the Panasonic does not have internal memory.

Solution, get a SDHC SD card for the Panasonic DMP-BD60.

SOME EINSTEIN in LIONSGATE forgot to state THAT at the back of the Crank 2 DB. I almost had a heart attack!!!

Sorry if this had been stated on this forum already

All players that are 2.0 profile, that does not have internal memory will have issue loading this BD.

Something to do with the BD-Live feature of the BD...

Amazon should put a clarifier that it does not contain real chocs. I suppose even if it did contain real chocs, don't know if they will survive the long journey overseas.

Guys ... just asking whether Transformers 2 ROTF IMAX/Walmart version comes with Chinese subtitiles ?

I got people asking me and I think it's kindof weird that people are asking for something that probably does not exist.

Most Region A US version don't carry Asian subtitles/captions except maybe some Sony releases. Uncle Ho's version is the one if want Chinese (or other Asian) subtitles. nod.gif

Nope, that's not toratora.

While the publicity will be good for customer awareness, it's not good in that it makes the copyright holders (i.e. the movies and games publisher) aware of his activities - and those guys could take legal action against him for renting. When you buy a BD or game, you don't have the right to rent it out commercially (unless you get a license to do that). So best to keep such activities quiet lest you attract the wrong kind of attention smile.gif

It can simply be a typo-error. But sometimes this happens because the sleeves were printed much earlier than the disc authoring process where they decided to make it region-free instead.... I also noticed some features printed on the sleeve contradicts with the actual content on disc rclxub.gif

OT but any sifus here ever heard of region free Sony BDP-S360 blu-ray player? That's claimed by the Sony Center owner at my place here when I bought my player bundle with Sony Bravia a month ago. Unfortunately I don't have any Region B locked blu-ray disc to test out. sad.gif

TDK is too long winding and boring? i cannot think of any specific scene in the movie that are unnecessary. the script is well written and great performance from the awesome cast. also the special effect and score help to set the tone for the film narrative instead of totally taking over the movie.

I used to hate it but after buying from Amazon UK, it turns out the titties on cover is not so bad la... but the casing not only thicker but felt a bit fragile compared to US one... like easy to break or crack, in other words very flimsy. Luckily the price is good so everything is forgiven!! thumbup.gif

I actually prefer the thicker cases as it seems more sturdy.

I have received quite a bit of the Viva BD cases that have chipped corners.

This one good to display in shelf but the price still too expensive. Star Trek with the Enterprise figurine also looks cool.

The Terminator Salvation is quite 'affordable' now on pre-order. Wonder AQ is good enough since the recent BDs' AQ has been astonishing, particularly for bass nuts tongue.gif

I dont watch it at all, in fact its wasted.. Thing is, its sent together with the disc and got no way to remove it.

I'm referring to the second disc i.e. digital copy, bonus features & etc. Not referring to the free gifts or items.

I have ordered G.I. Joe using Expedited shipping but still no sign, yet some forummers using Standard Shipping has already received thier. Can anyone here kindly enlighten me on how Expedited shipping works? Is it the same like Standard where they leave the package at your doorstep?

I luv it! It is not like a typical alien-invasion-type movie... very different style of filmmaking and storyline oso very interesting.. and quite an emotional ending. The director is Peter Jackson's protége. thumbup.gif

Amazon has a promotion that saves you money if you buy another Blu-ray title along with the new Up release.

Order Up and buy any other Pixar Blu-ray disc from the list (basically Monsters, Inc. and Cars) and save $15 off your total purchase at checkout.

To receive the $15 discount, enter the promo code UPBLURAY at checkout.

Save even more when you order all three - buy Up and both Monsters, Inc. and Cars on Blu-ray and save $26 off your total purchase at checkout.

To receive the $26 discount, enter the promo code PIXARBLU at checkout.

These offers cannot be combined.

By the way, how you guys complaint to Amazon US or Amazon UK when there's issues? I'm new to buying from Amazon.

I have experienced before, if on the day of release, the price drop compared to pre-order, you can complaint to Amazon. However, there is depend on Amazon whether want to refund the excess to you since their are not committed to you that their must refund due to price drop on the release date.

Last time I managed to claimed back $9 ($4.5 x 2) for my pre-order of Braveheart and Gladiator. nod.gif

So, no choice have to buy other BDs to get the free shipping laugh.gif end up brought 3 BDs with Lady Cop & Papa Crook that I actually don't want. I prefer their give me discount at equal amount of $. laugh.gif

Watch it yesterday, , the story line is well..... so so... not much honestly. The day after tomorrow has better story line.

But the effect... well. Video effect is great. But the sound...hmm somehow, I feel "The Day after tomorrow" has better sound effect. Even "Knowing" I feel has great effect at the air plane crashed. Anyway... the best part happen in California.. air plane fly around buildings.....

But overall, is a must collection for catastrophe BD movies. If you just want to show off the A/V effect.... doh.gif just my 2 cents though...

Check the total size of his torrent....if it's less then 25GB (Min), then it's not a 1:1 bluray rip.....

mois,

The differences exists. Let me tell u how. On a bd torrent, assuming that it is a 1 to 1 rip, how is it being played back? Unless it is through a decoder (this can be a media player or HTPC) that can correctly decode the bits like a BD player can, there will be a difference. There are media players out there that have colour decoding errors, some with luma errors, some that cannot pass Blacker than Black (BTB) and whiter than white (WTW) (means cannot be calibrated to HD colour space accurately) and some that cannot pass 24p untouched that messes up the picture. This is all assuming that it is a 1 to 1 rip, it is a whole new issue if it was somehow downsampled.

However, a caveat, if u r watching all this on a display that is smaller than 50in and u r not the least bit fussy abt top notch PQ, then the differences do not matter to u. HD will most always be better than SD, it depends on how much it matters to you that the PQ is as the director wanted it.

I have seen many media players (HTPCs included) screw up a picture so bad, but the owner is more than happy with it, so why burst his bubble.

It is ur money, if u want to join the downloading club and u r happy with it, do what u want its ur wish. However, if u going the original BD route, then kudos to u, enjoy it any way u want.

The war between Walmart and Amazon seem like more and more serious now. sweat.gif Anyway, buyers are winner not matter what.

3. Star Trek............................................................$19.96................................$19.99...............Amazon just reduce $1 today. rolleyes.gif

4. Angels & Demons................................................$16.86................................$18.49................Expect price to fall soon.

5. Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian......$17.86................................$19.49................Probably Amazon will reduce $1 soon.

6. Inglourious Basterds............................................$17.86................................$19.49................Probably Amazon will reduce $1 soon.

7. Harry Potter Years 1-6 Giftset...............................$92.86................................$92.99................Don't expect price reduction soon.

8. District 9.............................................................$18.86................................$19.99................Maybe reduce $1?

9. Lord Of The Rings Trilogy......................................$84.98................................$69.99................Walmart will fight back soon?

director's cut started with michelle yeoh giving definition of wushu to a bunch of mat saleh tongue.gif the other 2 version if not mistaken started with the final battle.

language got mandarin dts-hd only. very good details....can hear cracking bones very clear laugh.gif

Finished watching. What I can say is the director's cut is the most complete version of all. It's like watching a whole new movie. So much scene has been cut in the theatrical or unrated version. Director's cut made you understand the whole story line much better (about 30 mins of extra scene). If you watch Kingdom of Heaven theatrical version and then you watch the director's cut then you'll know what I'm talking about.

PQ is excellent as expected from a BD. DTS-HD gives out so much details from the 3 front speakers. Not so much ambiance from surround except during the fight in the restaurant. Bass is good but only here and there during fights. All in all I highly recommend Fearless director's cut.

Now...who wants my Fearless R1 DVD tongue.gif whistling.gif laugh.gif

Seem like my prediction not too accurate. Now only Fight Club reduced price to $15.99 for Amazon and $15.86 for Walmart. doh.gif

Star Trek still same price for both companies.

But don't worry, the other 8 BDs still not yet release, now is still early to tell whether their will reduce price or not. laugh.gif

I just realised "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" is one of the Criterion Collection and I missed it when the price is lowest at August ($13.99) doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif

Now I am interested in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button [Blu-ray] (2008).

user posted image

I think this movie is one of the best movie for 2008. laugh.gif

Another Criterion Collection I am currently interested is The Last Emperor [Blu-ray] (1987)

user posted image

But this version of blu-ray is 165 mins version instead 219 mins TV version doh.gif

The last Criterion Collection I am considering is Chungking Express [Blu-ray] (1994)

But never watch this movie before don't good or not but review seem no bad. hmm.gif

By the way, anyone watch "Monsoon Wedding" (also one of the Criterion Collection)? Review seem not bad. hmm.gif
