The competition from Walmart and Best Buy is driving Amazon prices down. Walmart and Best Buy (especially with the Gremlins/TF2 and GreenMile Exclusive) are giving Amazon a run of their money. This coming close to the holiday season will see prices of new releases coming down.

The differences exists. Let me tell u how. On a bd torrent, assuming that it is a 1 to 1 rip, how is it being played back? Unless it is through a decoder (this can be a media player or HTPC) that can correctly decode the bits like a BD player can, there will be a difference. There are media players out there that have colour decoding errors, some with luma errors, some that cannot pass Blacker than Black (BTB) and whiter than white (WTW) (means cannot be calibrated to HD colour space accurately) and some that cannot pass 24p untouched that messes up the picture. This is all assuming that it is a 1 to 1 rip, it is a whole new issue if it was somehow downsampled.

However, a caveat, if u r watching all this on a display that is smaller than 50in and u r not the least bit fussy abt top notch PQ, then the differences do not matter to u. HD will most always be better than SD, it depends on how much it matters to you that the PQ is as the director wanted it.

I have seen many media players (HTPCs included) screw up a picture so bad, but the owner is more than happy with it, so why burst his bubble.

It is ur money, if u want to join the downloading club and u r happy with it, do what u want its ur wish. However, if u going the original BD route, then kudos to u, enjoy it any way u want.

Aiks, why Mongol did not get UK version, that one has lossless audio, US one lossy I think?

R u sure they are originals? That could be the cause of some of the problems especially if it is a BD-R..

At least it answers the question of why it did not play on ur BD60. The Pannys are known to cause problems with BDR discs. Others do a better job. However, I know it does not make u feel better...Sorry for u.

They are not the same exact frames. In the DVD the yellow car is just emerging, whereas in BD it is probably the next frame... The others look the same.

Black Friday sales items due to the Thanksgiving Holidays are sometimes delayed. Last year, they split my shipment into 2, 4 items, 1 item. The 4 items arrived in 18days. The 1 item arrived 10weeks later!

They actually ran the same titles for BOGO earlier, at that point it was 2 for about GBP12. Now they changed the offer to B2 for GBP14...
