Yes you have to pay the full amount based on how much maxis is going to charge you. There is no such thing as free lunch tongue.gif

If I'm not mistaken you have to pay the remnant of your contract. Say if you took the 12 months (iValue1) contract then you want to cancel it after 6 months you have to pay RM600 for the remaining 6 months as well as some additional fee.

The early termination penalty is calculated like this:
[Original RSP for the iPhone - Phone price with contract] X [ No. of months remaining in contract / contract period] + RM100 penalty.

Example: You sign on the 16GB 3GS iValue1 for 12 months and terminate after 9 months :-

Penalty =

RM2490 - RM1990 = RM500 X 3/12 = RM125 + RM100 penalty = RM225.00

I have confirmed with Maxis - the penalty depends only on the phone price that is paid and NOT the monthly commitment on the contract.

Hope this helps smile.gif

OMG, that's certainly alot of hiccups to get you iphone, even hiccups after u get your iphone. can see the frustration that u r at for the super long list that u have written.

It's obvious that Maxis is having a serious internal communication break down as they do not seem to liaise among themselves on updates of their clients. It's funny when they say that they have to prepare some documentation as they could do that in minutes (it's just copy and paste of name, details and package, as i do believe that they have standard formats). And with regards to their 'striking of errors' in the contract, do u get them to sign on top of those errors? i am not that into legal matters, but if i am not wrong, the contract will not be legally binding. meaning to say, they can still say that u signed for the 24 year contract and u r the one who strike it off and put 12 and bla bla bla (correct me if i am wrong, as i am not sure about this either)

Initially i thought that if i forgot to bring my official receipt, it wouldn't matter as they have my records and my i.c would have been sufficient enough. But after ur news on, them forgetting that u paid the rm200 deposit, i think i will bring my receipt with me. (guys, if u had the same thought as me, pls bring ur receipt with you when u collect and dun assume that they will remember that u paid ur rm200).

hmmm.. i guess i will have the same hiccups with u on the credit limit. My current credit limit is Rm750. i wonder how much left i will be given with the new plan. I am currently booked for ivalue 1 and idata 2 plan. But it's funny that they say that u have to call call centre urself coz i upgraded my credit limit thru the maxis branch centre itself without calling any call centre.

Hope that u get r hiccups settled and thanks for the feed backs.
*
hey thanks for reply, i updated the the morning call from center to check out my pickup, u may want to follow up the story cool2.gif
but i'm lack to update the 2nd part of it at this moment.

well, for your question, i didnt get them signed anything for the strike off on the contract document.
And yesterday night, i went back the MEP to double check this issue, they answered it's been key in the system. So it's valid as 12 months, now i'm also not good into legal matters, the signed document is not a 2 set contracts that both parties signed and keep one copies for each other reference, it's more like a form to sign, then photocopy gave to me for reference, and no STAMPING. So called legal contract.

yeah, i did brought my deposit receipt, it's just a credit card customer copy receipt. Not those kind of official deposit receipt stated deposit.

i think your credit limit at RM750 is more than enough, at this point my understanding is, u were not getting more commitment charges per month on top of your currently have.
My case was i'm in the commitment RM50/month using Value Plus 50 plan, with credit limit RM100, now i got my iData 3 RM99 activated, then when my billing date reach i'll have RM50 + RM99 > RM100. And there is no automatically updated on this credit limit when i subscriber iData 3 on top of my Value Plus 50 plan. With more hiccups, the MEP cannot do upgrade for me, i need to call 123 my self.

If u really do concern about the credit limit issue, please understand the billing calculation of the plan u signed, u can get further understanding of my concern about the credit limit after u read my latest update regard the morning call check out.

thank you for the moral support

Hmm that's annoying.
What if u came from far, suddenly he said u can't collect today. That's worst.
They only focus on sales but not after sales service.
But anyway, happy for u that u received the phone.

Most important, CHECK the contract before u sign anything.
Or else, ur bound to the 24 months contract instead of 12 months.
*
i checked and raised this, that's y the customer service use ball point pen to strike off the 24 and write 12 on the document, then only i signed. After go thru reply by mikej1899, i think i need to seek further advice and confirmation.

thank you.

Before I proceed, a caveat. I am not defending Maxis but we have to be fair. As per yosen2000's illustration of exasperation, it is entirely the mishandling of the MEP and not Maxis per se, though I hasten to add that they are appointed representatives of the latter. But then, it is the people who make the organization and therefore if anyone is to be kicked in the behind it is the staff at the MEP.
*
yes u were absolutely right in this matter, and there is really lack of proactive action, there is more dispute & misleading about the iData 3 plan which i signed. U can look for my updates regarding the morning call from center to check out my pick up.

that doesnt make sense because then everyone would take advantage of the system by just cancelling their crazily exorbitant ivalue plans especially for those who just want the iphone. and then subsequently cancel their postpaid line. yeah it might incur an extra buck or two, but think about. i dont think it works that way lol. just my opinion but then again, you already confirmed with maxis so hmmm.... whistling.gif

time to manipulate the system hohoho cool2.gif

I don't even need to do the math but can tell you that you cannot beat the system. Any organization which comes out with such plans would have already looked at all angles and counted the straws. We as consumers will never end up having the edge no matter how much scheming we do. However, please by all means prove me wrong and then share with all of us here.

Ahh but then you'll lose your advance payment AND pay another RM100 penalty. That's why the advance for the 24 months contracts are so high. Even if you cancel after the 5 months, they'd already made the money from your monthly fee. Either way, Maxis wins.

Even with the Pre-paid Plan(hotlink) or outright purchase, Maxis still does not lose as they make profit from the relatively higher price of the phone. They however prefer to sell the iPhone packaged with the iV plans because the profit margins are higher. Hence, the indefinite suspension of the outright purchase.

Hello guys,

Today is my 39th days of waiting, and I tell u guys, Im sick of this.. I dont mind waiting, IF m*xis treat their customer fairly..Ini I tunggu almost 40 days, while other peeps got their phone on the spot..so unfair..

So this morning I've decided to call MEP kajang and ask the staff what if they exceeded the dateline (45 days)? And dia cakap that deposit can be refund, I may cancel my booking anytime.. Tomorrow will probably go there and take my rm400 back..

So guys, any ideas other than iphone? rolleyes.gif

Hello guys, i have a question to ask.
Firstly, I've booked, paid deposit Rm200, wrote my details in a form, the SA staff photostated my IC etc etc..
Okay let's say i don't want the phone already, and 1 of my friend want's it. So to save the Rm200 deposit, can my friend take over my place? I mean i'll go with him during the collection and ask them to photostat my friend's IC and sign up under his name instead of mine?
