since everyone keeps talking about how pav has got stock and all, can i purchase an iphone 3gs at PAVILION without preordering, that is buying outright/outright purchase without any plans?

QUOTE(h_bib @ Nov 15 2009, 07:01 PM) I just go to the apple dealer directly, asking for maxis plan, then the dealer said just take iData plan RM50 monthly on my celcom and get RM1990 for 16gb iphone 24mnth contract or RM2090 for 12month contract .she said someone cancel the booking so i can get around next week..cheers. hmmmm but u need a to have maxis value plan right? otherwise cant use the idata plan....QUOTE(Cyan7 @ Nov 15 2009, 07:04 PM) That's what i'm doing now. i booked at 7th of nov and they said i need to wait for atleast 3 to 4 weeks which my finals over on the 25th =D if you dont mind me asking, where did you book it? and what plan?speaking of plans.... using a value plus plan, is it possible to: 1. just book the iphone 3gs under the idata plan: no contract (RM30), 2. pay this for a month then cancel the subscription. 3. and because theres no 12/24 month contract i shouldnt be charged any cancellation fees right? or are there hidden costs that i've missed? 4. so.. the phone will cost me the RRP price + RM 30 only, yes? correct me if i am wrong and pls advise. this is like a shot in the dark to overcome my lust for the phone and because im not much of a phone caller, the ivalue plans are useless to me. and a waste of monehh |

question!
if say i buy an iphone 3gs from the garage sales, then what about the ownership with maxis? what happens when i need to use the phone's warranty because its spoiled/has a problem and i cant because the phone isnt registered under me? because at the end of the day the iphone is registered under the person's name i bought the phone from right? and i dont think can change ownership.. o_O |

QUOTE(friends @ Nov 17 2009, 05:14 PM) Maybe this has been mentioned before (or I missed out that)... iPhone Prepaid package (without contract) will be "opened" back starting next month (Dec 2009). Just wait and see if this 'rumor' is true or not. ... time will tell i guess.. any other 'internal news' is much appreciated! btw thanks friends, false hope is better than no hope XD |

Im curious...
two statements: 1. not allowing outright purchase of the iphone because MAXIS has exclusive rights to sell it. 2. also the requirement to be tied to a minimum 12 month contract with NO OTHER OPTION in order to purchase the iphone. is that even... legal? or a breach in consumer rights? (lol but then again our rights are a load of rubbish, hello isa) because if it is a violation of our god given constitutional rights then there's someone i'd definitely want to be speaking to right now. like a lawyer lol. (im half kidding. i mean its worth a shot) and besides why cant i register, book and wait in line like the rest, maybe even wait for 2-3 maybe even FOUR months like some of you, and buy the iphone? MAXIS says i cant do that because: 1. i want to have nothing to do with the contracts and because 2. i want an outright purchase of the iphone. and also because there's not enough stock. but like i said, i can just book and wait for it MONTHS AND MONTHS according to the numbering on the waiting list. and if i have to wait even a few years so be it. but what im saying is why cant i do just that? is this not indirect discrimination? especially for the hotlink people? hmm just a thought. forumers, i'd like to hear your opinions regarding this maxis registration-booking-buying issue. and NO im not looking for any fights/trouble please. you could call this a 'cultural movement' like the renaissance LOL but all i really want is some intellectual feedback. |

QUOTE(unioptom @ Nov 26 2009, 03:45 PM) The early termination penalty is calculated like this: that doesnt make sense because then everyone would take advantage of the system by just cancelling their crazily exorbitant ivalue plans especially for those who just want the iphone. and then subsequently cancel their postpaid line. yeah it might incur an extra buck or two, but think about. i dont think it works that way lol. just my opinion but then again, you already confirmed with maxis so hmmm.... [Original RSP for the iPhone - Phone price with contract] X [ No. of months remaining in contract / contract period] + RM100 penalty. Example: You sign on the 16GB 3GS iValue1 for 12 months and terminate after 9 months :- Penalty = RM2490 - RM1990 = RM500 X 3/12 = RM125 + RM100 penalty = RM225.00 I have confirmed with Maxis - the penalty depends only on the phone price that is paid and NOT the monthly commitment on the contract. Hope this helps time to manipulate the system hohoho *scheming* |

fyi maxis has enough stock for 16 and 32gb sets but theres been instruction not to sell the 16gb until further notice. So they'll be selling it after january or around that time. if you're willing to wait then by all means wait and be patient. otherwise get the 32 gb ones where they have stocks for both colours in klcc and pavilion. I got my 16gb from pavilion a few days ago due to uh, my shrewdness XD
all the best fellas! |
