Wow.. Really nice!
I noticed that usually the lace for leather shoes is such as the one on your Carminas.

Is there any reason for it to lace in such way?

There are many ways to lace. Sadly I'm no expert on this but Google has the answers I'm sure. Certain styles tend to put more stress on the laces themselves.

Both my recent purchases didn't get stuck at the custom

The first is my loake and secondly time is my shoe tree and saphir; the DHL delivery above.

Guess I'm lucky cos I know a lot of sneakers from UK got taxed when it reach Msia

Both times I've purchased from Carmina, customs taxed them. In fact it sits a day or two at customs and once they didn't even know what the item was because everything was in Spanish. Had to explain to them myself. The second time my shoe trees (that came with the shoes) were taxed a further 20%.

Where do you guys buy your shoes from? I wonder why there is a difference in practice.

Yes. I keep a brush specifically for this near where I put on my shoes. I do it while my shoes are on my feet.

So first I need to buy horse brush. Then use Soft Practic. And then buy conditioner like mink oil/saphir renovateur and use it for 1-2 times a year only. Wax polish only if i want it to shine.

So Soft Practic is the most important product here I would say as I have to use it every month.

I would say a shoe tree is also important,to keep shape of the shoes

A good polish brand that you can find in lazada is woly for conditioner, the one sold in Clark's stores are also good

Yup. And as Payne pointed out, shoe trees whenever the shoes aren't being worn.

Collonil is a good brand. Not as 'premium' as Saphir but still OK. Woly is about the same level as Collonil, as long as you don't get the "Fashion Cream" which contains silicon.

Shot this to show the pffk! of air rushing out of the shoe. It's an indicator of good heel fit.

My experience with DHL express is that it will usually be taxed by customs. If DHL global mail or royal mail (the kind that takes 2 weeks to arrive) then chance of customs holding it is low.

I paid 6% on my shoes and shoe trees. And a further 20% on the trees. Plus RM 53 standard handling charges by DHL. Total RM 195 on RM 1600-ish.

when there's not much to do on Christmas break, out comes the shoe valet box biggrin.gif

My weekend beaters are usually my rubber soled derby shoes. Some occasional trainers but I prefer my leather shoe tbh.

heavyduty I've always fond of sneakers, doesn't consider myself a sneaker head as I don't have a large collection but kept a few classics that I like like Asics Gel lyte III, airmax 95, airmax 1, flyknit racer and my current favourite ultra boost 1.0 (before all the hype)
Only recently that I realised that I needed to go better than Hush Puppies to really have a longer lasting shoes and have a few more for rotation.

I'm still adjusting to the value of leather shoes. Over 1k of sneakers not a problem but for leather shoes still a bit pain... Lol. A journey it will be nonetheless. At least better than the sneaker reselling scene I think.
